Re: New pics of Just Micro / Gremlin graphics, Carver st, sheff

Telecomsoft was at 64-76 New Oxford Street for the last 3 years of its existence (1986-1989). I must have walked past that building soooo many times between those years and never knew. Mind you, I grew up in Harlow in Essex and never knew that the Gollop brothers' Target Games was right on my doors...

That's where the Spiderpig song comes from FFS!
The one we were talking about a bit earlier was the live-action show. The famous song comes from the '60s cartoon.

Re: Retro TV that nobody seems to remember...

Hey, I saw the Nicholas Hammond Spider-Man at the cinema. I thought it was earlier than '78 (around '76) but it seems not. Can't remember if it was on a double bill or not but even if it was it probably couldn't match the oddest afternoon double bill I ever saw - the Adam West Batman movie and Butch...

That's the Mike Jittlov film, isn't it? I never did get around to seeing it and I like a nice bit of pixellation.

Re: I have the urge to buy Flight Deck!

Had this as a kid. We used to connect the end of the fishing line thing to it and then fire the plane up towards it, it would turn, then you had to land the plane or something. There's no something about it, landing the plane was the be all and end all of it. I had this when it first came out and r...

Re: Monster in my Pocket

To ease my curiosity I got a few M.U.S.C.L.E.s off of t'bay. I didn't realise that the ones released in the UK were a harder plastic (oh boy, getting figure-nerdy now). I don't like it as much as the Japanese softer 'eraser' material.

There, thought you'd all like to know that :)

Re: World in action

When I was a kid in the '70s World In Action was only matched by Panorama in its 'instant boredom' factor. I'd happily go and clean my room rather than watch either of those. Now, of course, I'd probably find it quite interesting but as modern day Panorama has turned into a Daily Mail sensation-fest...

Yay! Got my copy in the post this morning so all is good (especially as it wasn't mangled by Mr.Postie) :)

Looks great.

Re: "Retro" volume 3 bookazine now available

Consider it ordered :) I've got quite a nice little collection of these 'bookazines' now, sitting on the shelf next to the Edge Retro specials. The Games TM Retro ones are particularly welcome as (as it's been noted by others) they're all new content for me. The cover's particularly nice this time a...

Re: Monster in my Pocket

I'm on the LittleRubberGuys forum under the same name Weirdly enough, I signed up to that board this weekend after finding a load of Ultraman. Dragon Ball Z and Godzilla little rubber guys (like MUSCLE/Kinukuman) that I'd got in the early 90s (most still in their boxes/capsules). I'm a bit too old ...

Re: How do you do it?

I only play TV games with my son now (at the moment we're working through the first Metroid Prime) but I'll have a bash on the DS or iPhone as and when I have a few mins spare. Not like it was in the old days but it suits me fine now as I find I don't really have the urge to play any (laughingly cal...

Re: Alan Titchmarsch on Games

I imagine we can all think of a time when having knowledge of a subject shows up just how biased, poorly researched and downright inaccurate most popularist media is (whether it's in a newspaper or on cheap little magazine shows like Titchmarsh's) so it really shouldn't come as any surprise how that...

Re: Playstation Move unveiled

My son's teacher had a class discussion about NATAL yesterday, curiously enough. Yes one of the bloodthirsty little bastards suggested a GTA game where you actually had to strangle people to death using motion control (no joke  ) Isn't that the sort of thing that got the Wii version of Manhu...
