Re: An ANNOYING trend ...

It only boils down to "X" medium is insta-load if you take that narrow view. People collect for different reasons. The last thing that would shape their reasons would be how fast a game loads. And a game's content is unimportant to a collector going for a full collection. the single most sensible t...

Re: SFC Undercover cops

is fairly easy Does it differ in difficulty to the arcade version then? I played that in MAME and the bosses kicked my ass. They just took forever to die! On the sfc version you can set the number of lives and continues, so blowing throught the game isn't a problem. I guess you could stick it on ha...

Re: SFC Undercover cops

I've got it..........paid £27 for it back in 2002 (boxed complete) and thought that was hefty at the time, but yes it's going rate is around £100-130 now. AMAZING game and probably my favourite scrolling beat-em-up on the sfc. Excellent characters, good variation in gameplay between levels, has some...

Re: Super Nintendo collecting thread.

If my mrs ever lets me get the shelving back up I'd love to display my SFC stuff on the wall again like that!......been a few years since the shelves came down for redecoration and I was allowed to choose 30 or so titles to display on one wall and the rest went in packing boxes :( :( :( Have added a...

Re: Super Nintendo collecting thread.

too many USA titles there for my liking. (i know it can't really be helped the fact that they never got a UK release) Nothing worse than a dull collection of black snes boxes on display, and then to top it all off the horrific US art as well!!! And don't get me started on the silly little plastic ca...

Re: Super Nintendo collecting thread.

Anybody know the best place to buy complete SFC games? Was looking at getting my SNES modded and the first game I wanted to track down was Super Castlevania IV . I think the name is different in Japan though and ebay turned up nothing. Same thing for Contra 3 . I tried Genki too but everything seem...

Re: Super Nintendo collecting thread.

Just had a game arrive from Japan called LIbble Rabble, I saw it in an old NMS magazine and thought it looked worth tracking down. it comes with a little plastic disc you put over the buttons on the right hand side of the joypad to turn it into another directional control! How much did you pay if y...

Umihara Kawase, under loved and criminally unknown SFC import only title. A magical little platform game that has easily stood the test of time.

Re: GREMLIN GRAPHICS BACK

I bought a strange looking sfc cart years ago in Tokyo and after sitting in my loft I finally sent it of to Astaroth who dumped it for me! Seems it is a Gremlin Graphics developers cart (has some kind of pc-snes inhouse graphics programme on it), what it was doing in a back street store in Akihabara...

What chip was it in SF Alpha 2 that compressed the graphics data allowing more animation?
S-DD1 chip

Note 100% sure, but iirc Star Ocean was the only other game that used the same graphic compression chip
