Re: Too many worthwhile games?

To be honest, my backlog is ridiculous. The pile of stuff I've not / barely touched includes Super Mario Deluxe, Yoku's Island Express, Hollow Knight and Dead Cells, Redout and Dirt Rally FFS! I've an absolute pile if indie stuff to play, at last count there were almost 40 on PS4 and a good dozen mo...

Re: Konami Anniversary Collections

In somewhat bizarre news, Konami are have now they are going to patch in overseas versions, auto-fire and TATE - i.e. everything they took OUT of the original releases... the mind boggles.

Re: What are you currently playing?

Currently, a ton of Sonic All-Star Racing Transformed. I owned this upon the original release, but don’t remember being overly impressed with it and either traded/sold/gave it away. Had an urge to revisit it for some reason and picked up a cheap pre-owned copy, so glad I did. I wonder what I was thi...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

That's only really a saving for anyone daft enough to pay full price for digital games from Nintendo though. Pretty shoddy, really.

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Virtua Racing is amazing. I hope they patch the overly-bright colouring though, M2 are so thorough with their ports that it's a bit odd, unless it's some kind of conscious decision to make it look brighter on the portable screen. Should really be selectable though, like the normal/arcade handling.

Re: Konami Anniversary Collections

Dreadful line-up for the CV comp. I'm curious in a car-crash kind of way as to how they'll pad out the Contra one now. Include GBA Contra III or PlayChoice 10 Contra as separate games?

Re: What game have you COMPLETED this week

Dracula XX / Vampire's Kiss SNES. Much harder than Rondo, more old-school. Just as good, other than an awful clock tower level.

Re: Favorite GBA game

Double Dragon Advance. Absolutely masterful update of the coin-op version, better than every single home port of the three 'proper' games, and one of the best belt-scrollers ever.

Re: What are you currently playing?

Some Joe & Mac Returns on Switch. Simple enough concept, hit enemies, grab as many of them as you can before they wake up, and the more you grab, the more the boulder you throw at the remaining baddies. Not quite as complex or secret-packed as, say, Bubble Bobble, but has a nice lick of pace that ma...

Re: What game have you COMPLETED this week

Got the Rondo of Blood 1CC. Richter taking the lower route, then again with Maria for the crack. Really, really good game, far better than IV. Just want the 1CC on the upper route (ST4 is a roadblock at the moment), then I'll turn my attention to XX properly.

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

Treated myself to Tempest 4000 for PS4, and Gain Ground & Joe & Mac Returns for Switch.
Didn't realise there'd been an arcade follow-up to J&M and I'm a sucker for single-screen platformers.
Looking forward to getting stuck in later.

Re: What are you currently playing?

Just another Mega Drive Monday... Road Rash ESWAT Pit-Fighter Columns E-SWAT was always one of those rose-tinted games for me that didn't match the memory - loved the box art and loading sequence, then the game never seemed to follow up! Some of the bosses in it are just unfair.. :D I wonder if the...

Re: Tetris 99

I got the free week's online trial with the Splatoon demo, and thought I'd have a quick look at this. Had to prise myself away two hours later, it's ridiculously addictive. I've not played effect yet, but already I can't imagine bothering with single-player Tetris again. May actually push me into su...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

I know I like Robocod, I have it for my ST. I just don't like it £10 much when I've so much else to play on Switch already. Its a good game, better than a lot of the indie dross that clogs up the eshop. That's a tad sweeping.... there's so absolutely incredible indie stuff on Switch. I think the se...
