Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

Yesterday I bought Ghostbusters: The Video Game for PS2 ex-rental from the local Blockbuster. Am thinking I might head back there today for a couple of other PS2 titles.

Re: What are you currently playing?

Downloaded Golden Axe on the 360 last night. Haven't played it since the Mega Drive days. Kind of cool going back to it - seems to work well on the 360 IMO.

Re: Bleak moments in games

The ending (or near ending) of Red Dead Redemption and LA Noire got me recently.

Yeah, that game was really a downer pretty much all the way through, though it was done well.

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

SimCity 64 for the 64DD arrived for me on Friday. This is the first 64DD game I've ever seen in the flesh - very weird thinking a console would be running a diskette like this. http://a.yfrog.com/img640/1261/lm8a9.jpg The 64DD console, a Japanese N64 and 3 other 64DD games are all on their way still...

Re: What are you currently playing?

After finishing the story in LA Noire yesterday, I thought I'd go back to Quake 4 and try and complete it ... But ended up getting really bored, really quickly ... Must just not be in the mood. So instead I loaded up Dead Rising 2 which I bought ex-rental from Blockbuster a few weeks back (and total...

Re: What game have you COMPLETED this week

Yesterday I finished the story of LA Noire and the three DLC case packs out for it at the moment. Now just waiting for "Reefer Madness" to be released (July 11 I think), and might aim for getting more achievements then...

Re: PS3/360 Online Trophy/Achievement Boosting Thread

I like the achievements system, and often play games just to go for them - though I'm not a 'hardcore' 100% achievement junkie or anything. Here's the few that I have 100% on at the moment: 1000/1000 - DiRT 200/200 - Battlefield 1943 200/200 - GALAGA I guess as far as boosting is concerned, I really...

Re: What game have you COMPLETED this week

Got 100% Achievements in GALAGA on the 360 this evening. Not the hardest Achievement challenge, but that last one had been bugging me for a while.

Re: keeping track of your collection

I know this thread has been done before. I know I asked the question some time back. I'm not a fan of the online systems - the ones Ive seen won't let me add my own scans, own fields/comments etc. The Collectorz software is great, and does all this, but I don't like it's web front end. So, I've sta...

Re: Ever copped flack for collecting retro gaming stuff?

I get most of my stuff sent to work, so occasionally cop a bit from the guys in the mail room, but there's no problems there. Also, working in IT, most of the guys I work with are keen to see what's coming in every few days ... My boss sometimes gives me a bit of a jibe about how I should be saving ...

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

I've gone a bit nuts over the past couple of weeks, ordering the following (some may have already been reported here, so apologies for any double ups): NES:- Gauntlet II (Boxed) The Legend of Zelda (Boxed) Super Off-Road (Boxed) Top Gun (Boxed) DS:- Ultimate Mortal Kombat N64 (Japanese):- F-Zero X (...

Re: the virtual boy

I bought myself a Virtual Boy earlier this year and was pleasantly surprised! As mentioned somewhere here, the 3D effect actually works well (I guess because each eye is essentially forced to view something different). Wario Land is also such a good game. And to be honest, I just like the look of th...

Re: What are you currently playing?

Downloaded Gyruss on XBOX Live this morning ... Love that game! Used to play it on the C64 when I was a kid. Thought the 'stand-alone' XBLA version controlled better than the Game Room version, and the graphics have been updated well IMO. Made the decision to sit down and finish LA Noire by the end ...

Re: What are you currently playing?

I too would be playing Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D ... if it was released here in Australia. Will just have to wait until the end of the month (released June 30). :( Get someone nice to ship you a copy I'd thought of that, but have already pre-ordered it (didn't check the release dates beforehand). I...
