Features on Acornsoft or Superior Software?

I can't recall too much of a focus on the BBC Micro in recent issues of RG, so I'd like to see you do features on the two biggest companies that produced games for the good old Beeb.... Acornsoft were of course responsible for releasing Elite, but what I'm more interested in finding out is how they ...

Games on home systems that should have had arcade versions

There's alwasy been plenty of debate about which home systems had the best conversion of an arcade game, but I wondered what you lot thought were great games on home systems that would have been well-suited to the arcade? If we're talking just items that are retro gaming related, then off the top of my head... A Space Panic Cocktail arcade machine for around 80 quid - the guy selling it thought the monitor had gone but it was fully working except for the PCB (which was actually Hunchback) which I sold to recoup some ...

Or those who don't really do retro gaming for the nostalgia but for the quality of the games?

I'm definitely a 'maybe'! This guy Steven does appear to be giving an intelligent and feasible account of the story regarding this mysterious game, and you would have to ask that if he is a wind-up merchant why is he going to so much trouble to convince us about his story? Surely there can't ...

Personally I think the whole idea of retro gaming is about nostalgia, and remembering those games you played as a kid, so for me personally that means the systems have to be at least 10-15 years old for me to consider them retro...

I've had the Bubble Bobble theme as a ringtone on my last 4 mobiles over the last 4-5 years... on the first 2 I composed it myself and on the second 2 I transferred the MIDI file using a data cable. Best thing of all, if my phone rings more than twice in a day at work, all my collegaues get the them...

This is my first post, so I may as well make it a worthwhile one... :) A couple of my faves have already been chosen but since nobody has added a BBC Micro game to the list yet... #35 Chuckie Egg (BBC Micro) One of the all-time classic platform games, the graphics and sound are pretty mediocre, even...
