Re: How much should I look to spend on a copy of Snatcher?

There aren't that many options other than eBay I'm afraid and then it probably won't be far off £100. If you don't mind paying that much for a game at least you will get that back should you choose to sell it later.

Re: The Nes PC Mod

Brilliant work! Did you know you can get NES to USB adaptors fairly cheap so you can use an original controller (although the one you have is pretty close). Also some electronics students managed to get an N64 contoller to work as a PS/2 mouse, it looked a bit complex but maybe with your electrical ...

Re: Unmodified Region-free Consoles

Would you be able to use an Action Replay cart with a Jap system? I don't see why not. I'm not 100% sure what happens when PAL 50Hz games get used on a 60hz Japanese system though since I've never tried it. To be honest, the AR cart never seemed like a full solution to me due to the 50/60Hz issue s...

Re: Why weren't Arcade quality games in homes during the 80'

In 1988 we went to Blackpool and I shoved as many 10p coins as I was allowed to into Double Dragon. I asked for a Spectrum for Christmas that year and I could get one other game, obviously that was Double Dragon. I had no reason to believe it wouldn't be exactly the same as what I had been plaing in...

Yeah I used to spend ages upstairs in Gamestation when I was in Edinburgh, shame that they've changed it.

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

I have a master system on the way! :D I've only wanted one since Christmas 1988!
I recently left my job at short notice so they had a quick whip-round and gave me £45, enough for a boxed Master System plus and a copy of Shinobi.

Re: S-Video cable on PAL N64, I read somewhere that not all PAL consoles are capable of displaying s-video and it was dropped from later models, I'm after one of the later coloured models but also want to buy one the cables from consolegoods does anyone know if this would work, or am I stuck with co...

Re: The Legend of Zelda and EBAY!

a few weeks ago I was selling off some stuff and had a unboxed no instructiont OoT which I hoped would get about a fiver (I have the Cube one anyway) It ended up going for over £16. I Assumed this might be because the 3DS version was being quite heavily advertised on TV at the time

Re: Covertape classics

First covertape I got was from Sinclair user in '88. Bear a grudge was a Space Harrier type game with the SU staff as the enemies and was pretty good.

I learnt the meaning of the words Xenophobia and ocarina from games. Ocarina came up on a quiz machine and won us something like £3 :D

Re: first game

I think, although it's a pretty hard question, it was phoenix or something very similar at a caravan site. The first game I owned was Crazy Chase on the Philips videopac G7000.
