Re: new magazine archive (PC / MS-Dos / 80s)
Thanks Mort!! I think I'll just go ahead and create the complete archive, then we'll see what happens. I'll put a new post up here when it's complete (no doubt will take some months considering the number of issues to scan in and the fact that the magazine expanded from about 60 pages an issue to ab...

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 120 - Feedback Thread
The reason most of us picked up the magazine in the first place is because we felt it "was for me". If that's no longer the case, people won't embrace it - they'll simply stop buying it. Okay, that did raise a chuckle. It seems to suggest that in the beginning when you first picked up the magazine ...

Re: new magazine archive (PC / MS-Dos / 80s)
Thanks. Don't worry, there's loads more. That's the first issue I ever purchased (so I don't have any before that issue number) but I have probably 30 or 40+ issues of this which I can scan in and put up. When they started putting the 5.25" disc on the cover I have also managed to transfer (where po...

new magazine archive (PC / MS-Dos / 80s)
Hi, For ages i've been thinking of archiving all my old issues from the 80s (and very early 90s) of PC Plus (for the Amstrad PC), here's an example issue: http://www.mediafire.com/folder/d6gy4qyyxkq8j/Issue06 Does anyone know the legality of putting this stuff online? Would Future Publishing be knoc...

Re: Letters
Hi guys Due to social media being what it is we're looking at revamping the letters page. By which I mean, getting rid of it! Basically it's getting harder and harder to fill the section (one reason why it's dropped from 4 pages to 2 over the past few years) so we may get rid of it entirely. I know...

Re: Speccy VS C64 VS CPC
The CPC's " problem " is that most people owned the other machines so it was easy to just bash it and have other owners just go along with it because they owned one of the other machines. They can say over the top things about it because the CPC owners are in the minority so they just get shouted d...

Re: Introduce yourself
This ...........is a bit embarrassing.... Hi! I'm not new! :) I should have seen this thread a bit before now probably! I'm Ben. Been a reader / subscriber of RG for probably 8 years or so, perhaps a bit longer. Love retrogaming and began collecting a few old machines and games around the late 90s, ...

Re: Speccy VS C64 VS CPC
I have no preference. I never owned any of the 'popular' machines so used to go round my mates' houses to play around on theirs, from that I learnt to just appreciate them all. The CPC is awesome, still don't get what people's problem is with it. Loved playing Nemesis and Laser Squad on my friend's ...

Re: What were the best game shops around your area..
Can only really think of The Model Shop in Guildford, apart from the usual suspects of the department stores that stocked lots of tapes. We got our copy of Elite on tape (for 14.95 I remember to this day!) from the Model Shop when it came out. In fact, I remember going back even in the early 90s and...

the PAL S-video cable on there worked perfectly for me for the N64

Re: Tomorrow's Harvest
Nice! Glad someone else here is into BoC! There is a marked difference between this album and their first, and even more obviously the Twoism and High Scores stuff. Their work is much more polished sounding nowadays. I loved the lead up to this release though and followed the whole thing very keenly...
