Re: Worst game you've ever bought

Easily Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror on the Gameboy Colour. It bordered on unplayable. Sluggish, dull and not even slightly fun to play. Hated it.

Re: Enemies you hate in games

Add me to the bats/birds list. They immediately came to mind when I saw the topic title.

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

Yo-Kai Watch on the 3DS. It's good fun, I'm really enjoying it so far. Probably has the potential to be repetitive, but at this point anyway I'm hooked.

Re: The XBOX ONE / PS4 discussion thread

PS Plus games for May have been announced, Tropico 5 is the headliner: https://blog.eu.playstation.com/2016/04/27/coming-to-playstation-plus-in-may-tropico-5-table-top-racing-and-more/ Can't say I'm especially excited...but that's nothing new, PS Plus has sucked since December. That said, I'll give...

Re: What game/s do you think got unfairly reviewed?

Wolfenstein The New Order - Got mostly middling reviews from the gaming press, but for me it was one of the best games of 2014. It created a world rich with story and intrigue, and the mechanics were excellent too. Hoping we'll see a sequel. WWE Crush Hour - Was absolutely mauled by magazines at the...

Re: The XBOX ONE / PS4 discussion thread

Not sure what to play next. I have Until Dawn and Fallout 4 installed and ready but when I get in from work I inevitably play a quick few games of rocket league (getting half decent at it). Maybe pick something at the weekend. I'm a fair way into The Division at the minute and would definitely recc...

Re: Have you improved as a gamer over time?

I guess games were harder for a variety of reasons - not least the lack of the ability to save, meaning you couldn't afford to be sloppy with your actions. That means I'm probably worse, but it's very hard to judge.

Re: Your top 5 indie games

5. Jazzpunk - Another game that is laugh out loud funny, but also bizarre. It is really hard to describe. I guess it is a first person adventure game? It is packed full of references to all sorts of things (Bond, The Matrix, Street Fighter). Not heard of this one, I think I'll give it a go now I've...

Your top 5 indie games

5. Everybody's Gone to the Rapture (PS4) - Compelling story, I really wanted to find out how it all ended. I suppose it is essentially a walking sim, but I loved every moment of it. 4. Steamworld Dig (3DS) - Brilliant fun, ploughed through this game in no time at all. 3. FTL (PC) - I didn't think th...

Re: The XBOX ONE / PS4 discussion thread

Has anyone played Klaus? Just completed it last night, I've not seen many people talk about it but for me it's one of the best and most original indie games available on the PS4. On sale right now (or it was anyway) so it's well worth checking out if you're in the market for a strong 2D platformer. ...

Re: Greatest TV villains

For pure hateability, Joffrey from Game Of Thrones. I thought about Joffrey but then also about Cersei, The Mountain, Littlefinger, Roose Bolton.......... could have a full list from Game Of Thrones! Completely forgot about Joffrey! I've never had so much disdain for a TV character. He definitely d...

Greatest TV villains

Simple question - who are your favourite TV villains of all time? Needless to say, potential SPOILERS follow. You obviously don't need to follow this criteria, but I'm going to rule out the likes of Frank Underwood and Walter White as far as my choices go. Although they are technically bad people, t...

Worst games in otherwise great franchises

The black sheep of the family, if you will. As far as this topics go, spin-offs bearing a great character/brand also count (eg. Super Mario Ball, Sonic Drift) if you think they're worth bringing up. "Unofficial spin-offs" don't count - (eg. the CDi games featuring Nintendo characters) Of course, jus...

Re: The XBOX ONE / PS4 discussion thread

Has anyone managed to get the Witcher 2 free download working in the UK? Still getting "not valid in your region" when I try. Does the disc version of the game work on the Xbox One, or is it just the downloadable version? Potentially quite a strong week coming up from a digital game point of view. V...

Re: The 'NX' is Nintendo's next-gen console

HD remakes (my guess is Mario 3D Collection featuring the Galaxy games and Sunshine in high-resolution and slightly updated graphics and maybe a proper remake of Mario 64). Sunshine can bog off but the others sound very tempting. Wasn't a Sunshine fan on launch, but I'd probably give it another sho...
