Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

Hue on the PS4. Really enjoying it so far, I'd highly recommend it.

Re: The XBOX ONE / PS4 discussion thread

September's Games with Gold freebies are a turn-based indie rpg of yawn and an Assassin's Creed spin-off that only a fanboy could love. I forget what the 360 giveaways are. Forza something or other? Whatever. Last month was pish and the standard is being maintained. Maybe they're keeping some good ...

Cheers for the heads up - I'll need to pick this up before it's too late.

Re: Bad Influence or Gamesmaster

Bad Influence for me. I loved that show. Was really disappointed when it disappeared from our screens, and I was disappointed when they ditched Nam Rood too. Has Gamesmaster ever been aired on challenge? Seems like the kind of show they MIGHT have gone for at some point. On a side note has the magaz...

Re: Sonic Mania Thoughts

I love the 2D Sonic games, but I've been burned by the franchise so many times I'm finding it very hard to trust Sega on this one. I really do hope it's good and if it is I'll be really excited and I'll buy it, but I'm finding it hard to shake-off the fear that it might be another let down.

Re: Console Wars Memories

I was the odd one out in my school, my parents bought me an Amiga as they thought it was "educational". I missed out on my own copy of Sonic or Mario, but I did get to enjoy Monkey Island, The Chaos Engine, Benefactor and countless other classics so it all worked out. And it DID turn out to be educa...

Re: Sonic Mania (Brand New Retro Inspired Sonic Game)

So after a pretty rough start to their live stream reveal, SEGA revealed its new Sonic game, Sonic Mania. And it's not only 2D, its also has pixel graphics as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsfv0ac7GG8 Pretty interested in this, despite lacking a PS4/XBONE (NX port maybe?). With the release ...

Re: Games Master's Top 100 Games Ever! *Updated w/ The Write

South Park Rally made their list?! Even back in 2000 I'd have found that surprising. Very interesting to see these lists now. Mortal Kombat II would struggle to make a top 200 list these days, let alone a top 100 list while something like Monkey Island would be very highly ranked, when it isn't here...

Re: What are you currently playing?

Fallout New Vegas - Decided to revisit this game. It's good, but the soundtrack is pretty weak compared to other Fallout games. Dean Martin is all well and good. It's Vegas, but it ain't Fallout.

Superhot - If you've not played this I'd recommend you do, it's great.

Re: Recommend me some DS games

I'll try and mention a few games that haven't been discussed so far (although I'll almost inevitably hit some crossover) * Soul Bubbles - Was well received upon release, but I don't think it sold all that well. Having said that, it's available for £9.99 on Amazon, so it's not expensive. Makes great ...

Games that have made you cry

I can't be the only one, right? Obviously there's the potential for spoilers here. For me the key moment is THAT death in Final Fantasy VII. I was blubbing like a baby when Sephiroth did what he did, and I felt pretty deflated for the next portion of the game even though it was really fun. Another m...

Re: Retro Gaming. How far Back is your cut off point.

There are games I enjoy on the Nes/Master System but they tend to be available on Nintendo's virtual console so in terms of what I physically buy on their original format, the 16 bit era. I own a Snes, I used to own a Mega Drive but again, I found most of the games I wanted were available either dig...

Re: Which do you prefer : Monkey Island 1 or 2

I honestly couldnt choose, MI2 was better but had a bit of a stupid ending! I really like the ending for Monkey Island 2, totally caught me off guard. I thought it was really clever. That said, my favourite game in the series is the original. A better story, more logical puzzles than the sequel and...

Re: Which developers are still a day one purchase for you?

Naughty Dog, and that's about it. The next Projekt RED game will be a day one purchase for me, but The Witcher 3 is the first of their games that I've played so I can't really list them just yet. Other than that there are GAMES that are day one purchases (eg. the Fallout series, Pokemon, Mario etc) ...
