Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Anyone else having hardware issues? I'm dealing with a few. Sometimes the joycon becomes unresponsive - if it's not pointing directly at the console (say my leg blocks it off) the controls can go funny. It caused Link to suddenly turn suicidal and run off a tower in BOTW. I'm getting the left joycon...

Re: What game have you COMPLETED this week

I Am Setsuna. Wonderful game. Beautiful music, fantastic story and a bleak but brilliant game world. It's like Final Fantasy of the PS1 era - if you were a fan of those games, I'd be surprised if you didn't enjoy this. I didn't even know this was out. Seemed like a load of hype for it then...nothin...

Re: More Adverts, no thanks.

I don't understand why advertising would bother you. Even if Christmas hadn't been a factor surely more adverts is a sign of the magazine doing well, as advertisers want to spend their money on it? If no one was buying advertising the magazine would surely die a death and that would be a real shame....

Re: From THe Forum - Favourite Survival horror game

Alone in the Dark - I'll admit it, I have my nostalgia-ridden rose tinted glasses on for this one, but Alone in the Dark on the 3DO was the first game of this genre that I played, and it blew my mind. It never crossed my mind that gaming and horror could be infused so effectively.

Genuinely funny moments in games

We all like a chuckle, but good comedy is something as a whole the world of gaming struggles with. However, when gaming does get it right it produces classic moments that perhaps don't get the credit they deserve in the long term. So let's give them credit now - which gaming moments have had you lau...

Re: Top 5 games you played this year

1. Fallout New Vegas - backwards compatibility really helped me get into a wide range of old games this year, and this was one of them. 2. I Am Setsuna - I'm playing this right now. I'd ranked it slightly lower in my 'best games released this year' - and I've since come to love it even more. 3. Klau...

Re: The Missing Retro Gamer features

With the merger of Imagine and Future, could you do an article on publishing houses old and new and computer/game magazines through the times? I remember having 20 or more different titles on the shelves of my local newsagent, but nowadays the pickings are seriously slim and droll. Where did the Am...

Your top 5 games of 2016

To clarify - I'm talking about games that have been released this year, rather than games you've played this year. 5. Tricky Towers - This one's a bit left field, but I've devoted so much time to this PS Plus release that I can't not include it in my top 5. 4. I Am Setsuna - A return to form for Squ...

Re: What are you looking forward too in 2017?

Thimbleweed Park's one of my most anticipated games for 2017, along with Sonic Mania which looks superb. I've missed Crash Bandicoot, and I'm excited to see that return, and I'm also hoping The Last of Us 2 lives up to my expectations. I'm excited at the idea of the Switch, and I hope Nintendo learn...

Gaming predictions 2017

I did OK with my 2016 predictions, but I'd like to do even more OK next year, so... * It'll become abundantly clear that VR is NOT the next big thing - Don't get me wrong, I think we'll see a healthy stream of releases at first, but I think they'll be small games from smaller developers. I don't thi...

Re: Gaming Predictions for 2016

I thought I'd bump this topic to see how we all got on with our 2016 predictions. I did OK-ish, I think... * A new Crash Bandicoot will be announced at E3 - Surely Sony wouldn't tease at it in the way they did without there being any pay-off? I REALLY hope this one happens...I miss poor Crash. Well....

Re: How big are you expecting the PS4 VR to be?

I'm enjoying my PS VR, but I'm finding it's something I enjoy best with company, so games like Keep talking or everyone explodes, Surgeon Simulator and Playroom VR are my highlights. I may end up being wrong, but I think predictions of VR being the next big thing are way off the mark. I think it'll ...

Hidden gems

Simple premise - what games do you think are underappreciated and deserve a wider audience, and why? Hopefully this thread will help us pick up some interesting new titles. Here's my picks: (1) Klaus (PS4) - I think this might also be out on Steam now, but it's the PS4 game I've played and loved. It...
