Re: NEC PC Engine??

If you like horizontal shoot 'em ups, you should definitely get Airzonk (aka PC Denjin). Lots of bold colours and sprites, and great parallax effects. The Engine also has one of the best versions of R Type (although the Japanese version is split across two cards).

Re: What has been your most 'upsetting' gaming-related news?

I wouldn't be so upset about it if there were an archive. I'm not as crushed about the end of the Superplay dynasty, because all those magazines are still there to be enjoyed. The fact that Digitiser is gone without a trace is a great shame.

Death of Digitiser was also a very sad day.

Re: What has been your most 'upsetting' gaming-related news?

Buying Perfect Dark only to discover the Game Boy Camera compatability had been removed with no warning, presumably in yet another kneejerk reaction to some school shooting or something that doesn't in the least bit concern us in Britain. Yes. Why would anybody in Britain care about what happened i...

Re: wii U

It's a source of continuing disappointment to me that nobody has really used modern technology to its fullest potential to make a truly stunning 2D game. The likes of Wario Land Shake and Muramasa have come close I guess. Imagine a 2D Metroid with environments that look like watercolour paintings! W...

Re: wii U

People like cheese and onion crisps and voted for the nazis. They can't be trusted. Also, NSMB mechanics are broken as ****. It's literally unplayable in multiplayer mode, which is its only selling point. Even in single player mode it plays nothing like the original 2D games. They messed with the j...

Re: wii U

They could have made a 2D Mario game that wasn't also shit, though. You know, like Wario Land Shake.

Re: The "state" of the scene....

There is a scene, just not here. Head out to the more civilised forums and you find what you're looking for. I would advise that you check out the system-specific forums, where presumably they don't have chips on their shoulders about other systems/companies or whatever. Or if they do, they all have...

Re: First Pictures of Robocop(new version) of Himself!

It's not shot for shot. It's pretty close, I guess, as far as remakes go. They butchered both the main characters though with some simple changes. The American remake of Let the Right One In is one of the closest I've seen without being shot for shot. Especially since the director claimed to be maki...
