Re: Coin op you stuck the most cash in?

P.S- Loved Vendetta too, but could never find it in many arcades. Maybe it was because of the rather dodgy gay -biker- a likes which would not have gone down very well. As far as I remember they were a lot worse than the deleted boss in SoR 3. Even as a weenager I thought it was un-PC  Ah wel...

Re: Coin op you stuck the most cash in?

I reckon it's a toss up between Star Wars (sit down) and Robocop. Probably cos they were both 10p a go when I was on my hols in Hemsby. I used to jibe a paying 20p for a credit! Oh I've just remembered Crossbow, and how I'd never seen anything like that impressive cab before. Money pit! P.S- Loved V...

Re: Game Room: Gash or Great?

I must admit I am a little bit disappointed with the proliferation of 2600 and Intellivision games. Have played Time Pilot and Gyruss the most as I have very fond memories of spending my summer hols playing them in arcades. I've got most of the Atari arcade games on the PS2 collections, and so I don...

Re: Best Julian Gollop game?

For me it's Chaos. The look on my friends face after they tried to cast "Disbelieve" on my not-an-illusion-at-all Green Dragon was priceless!

Re: Should I buy a PS3?

Hi again guys. Maybe a little off topic, but it's PS2 related. Is there a way to get a better picture on my HDTV with my PS2? Used to use the SCART socket which looked a bit off. Then I managed to procure a S/Video PS2 cable and it seems to have cleaned it up. Is that the best i can hope for? Or is ...

Re: Should I buy a PS3?

If you have the spare cash I'd definitely invest in one. I got mine in Oct last year and am very pleased with it. The PS3 seems to upscale my DVDs better than my 360 ever did, and of course there's a whole clutch of PS3 exclusive games that are well worth getting. I'm a 360phile at heart, but was se...

Re: Syndicate

Loved the Amiga version. Got it with my A1200. Never completed it though, insanely hard last level on the mid Atlantic rig thing! Even if I used the "Marks Team" cheat (remember that?). It ruined the actual game but made it quite fun. Never had the expansion pack. Didn't care much for the Megadrive ...

Re: Castlevania: Harmony Of Despair (XBLA)

Your beat 'em up suggestions would be down to personal prefernce, they're all good in their own way (although I'd go for Garou). If you pick Alien Breed over Afterburner, you're a f**king nutter to be honest. No contest. Thanks Smurph for the advice! Will go with Garou most probably. I remember Ali...

Re: Castlevania: Harmony Of Despair (XBLA)

Haven't played it yet to be honest. I was going to but after looking at some of your comments, I don't know if I will! This is unrelated I know, (and I apologise). I've recently returned to XBLA after a long hiatus, and am looking to spend some hard earned points. What in your opinion is superior. M...

Seventies Power Ballads compilation CD
Oh and a promotional Borat mankini.
Unfortunately I don't have any games related ones. I'll go and look 8)

Re: games you like that are either hated or under rated

I really enjoyed Wet on the 360. Not many other people did apparently! I was also enjoying Silent Hill Homecoming until I got to the massive doll boss and then realised it didn't checkpoint before the lengthy cut scene if you died (which I did.....many times) and you couldn't skip the cut scene eith...

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

Metal Slug Anthology and Taito Legends 2 for the PS2. Thinking about getting SNK Classics Vol.1 from Amazon. Does anybody know if it's any good? I remember Burning Fight and Samurai Shodown from my teenage years in arcades, but the others I'm not familiar with. A shame it hasn't got Nam 75, I used t...

Re: Best retro joystick ever : Unofficial voting thread

Sorry guys. Thought I'd better clarify one of my choices after reading the chart again.
The "Amstrad/Sinclair freebie" I referred to was the free joystick I got with my Spectrum +2. A truly hideous beast it was too. But as I said, I never had enough joysticks to make a top 3.

Re: Favourite Robocop game

The first Robocop arcade machine is my fave. Very fond memories of playing it in Great Yarmouth. Even though I never did get past the junk yard level. 2nd would be the Speccy game. I remember seeing the advert for it on the trailers of the Robocop VHS. Loved it even though the ED-209 was a bit of a ...

Re: Best retro joystick ever : Unofficial voting thread

Heres my three. As predictable as my joypad choices I'm afraid!

1. Zipstick
2. Cruiser ( cant quite remember exact model)
Actually they are the only two sticks I ever had to buy thanks to their durability. So, number 3 must be.......
3. Amstrad/Sinclair freebie I got with my +2A.
