Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

Just picked up Resi Evil 4 on the Wii, and Alan Wake on 360. Haven't cranked up Wake yet but had a go on Resi last night. I'm liking it very much more than 5 at the moment, although it's gonna take me a while to get used to the pointy+nunchuk controls. I seem to be panicking and looking up at the sk...

Re: Frustrating, Annoying Moments.

ghouls'n ghosts picking up one of the rubbish weapons, especially at key moments such as just before the slug/caterpillar boss accidentally picking up the throwing star/shield weapon. OMG, you've just reminded me of how when I used to play the original Ghosts n Goblins in the arcade I'd do ANYTHING ...

Re: Stand out moments

The dollboss was hard as nails. Took me about five tries before I managed to beat her. Oh I wish I were as good as you mate, I thought I had her beat and then she went all spider leggy and got EVEN HARDER. Cue death and another cut scene. I want to see the end damn you! Any tips please email them t...

Re: G-Police PS1

Loved G-Police too, you've just reminded me that I still have a copy kicking around somewhere. Must crank it again! I do seem to remember a really horrible hard bit involving rogue mining robots or something. Or perhaps i dreamt that. Liked Colony Wars too, is it just me or does the narrator on the ...

Re: Frustrating, Annoying Moments.

Fragile Dreams had a really annoying bit right at the end of the game - the motion sensor room was a real frustrating moment as if you even flinch just a little you have to fight a bunch of robots and then try the whole damn room again :x Almost ruined the game for me... Megaman III for the Gameboy...

Re: Frustrating, Annoying Moments.

I can't remember if it was GoW 1 or 2 where you had to ascend rotating pillars with knives on them and if you got so much as scratched with one, you fell all the way to the bottom. That bit really ground my gears! A younger friend of mine has lent me Demons Souls, and said that'd test my patience to...

Re: Stand out moments

-"Attack of the Fishmen" in Dark Corners of the Earth. Without doubt the most terrifying chapter in any game I have ever played. I never managed to finish that part of the game, it was too difficult and stressy. :( Yes it was rather difficult wasn't it? I remember it took me many a go to get away a...

Re: Stand out moments

-Playing Resi Evil for the first time on my mates PS1, and realising that I really needed to have richer parents, or get a job (I did the latter!). Did you consider the 1st option... just knocking on some rich families mansion and asking if they'd adopt may have worked  A similar moment for me...

Re: Stand out moments

Well I can't seem to remember as many as you fine guys cos I think old age is getting to me at last! Truly stand out moments only seem to come around once in a blue moon IMO but here goes: -First time I played Star Wars in the arcade when i was about 5 years old. For those fleeting vector moments co...

Re: Most annoying videogame enemies?

As I've mentioned before- that doll boss from Silent Hill Homecoming. What a broken s@<*
Oh and the mutants in Defender, but maybe that's because I was rubbish at the game in general!

Re: Stinkers you bought back in the day

Well there's been a few in my time of gaming, but I reckon the worst offenders are: E-SWAT on the Speccy. Can't believe I spent a good afternoon fighting to get to WH Smiths in town on the bus for that pile of old squit. That robot scrolling fighter on the MD, can't remember the name but you used a ...

Re: The Survival Horror Thread

Apparently theres a new Silent Hill on the way but I haven't seen any confirmation. Hope it's better than Homecoming. To be honest I was quite enjoying it until I got to the big doll boss. Kept dying and then couldn't skip the lengthy cut-scene before each repeat encounter. The pad nearly went throu...
