Re: Is the forum in decline?

It's usually always one for me. But one always feels like an army of them, hehe. Time to cleanse my mind for a bit and talk about the best version(s) of Doom... I haven't been on here in a bit, though. Does Crunchy still post? I know what people mean by same old, same old...but it's in the DNA of re...

Re: Game of Thrones

Monday's episode was dull but so, so glad about one character this series... ... Sir Gregor . One scary, sinister mamma-jamma. Every scene feels like walking on eggshells. Just a pity he didn't crush anyone on Monday night. :( (I just hope Jonathan Pryce's godawful annoying character gets the eye go...

Re: Games with unforgiving mechanics

^Nemesis had great stuff like the weapon tinkery but I *hated* the Nemesis...just cheap and annoying,..and after seeing the later series of Johnny Vegas's Ideal , he reminds me of 'Fist'! The opening part in the mansion was definitely the most difficult part of the game After not having played the G...

Re: Is the forum in decline?

I only tend to post when I'm not involved with women.

Hence this post. Expect more posts until I am engulfed by vagina again. For some reason, women act as a kind of vaginismus to my forum activity, I become a non-active member.

Now I am a swollen member again. :D

Re: Games with unforgiving mechanics

I find that an irker, too. I love the REmake but the original felt masterable, whereas REmake is a little too brutal and stressful with the Crimson Heads. Hunters were a nightmare in Code: Veronica, too. Although they've ALWAYS been basts.

One thing you CAN say about GT3 is that it still looks stunning today. For a 15 year old game it looks absolutely gorgeous.

Kamikazes...I'm remembering the fiery skulls in Doom. Twits they are.

Re: Fantasy Art of Oliver Frey (Hardback) Kickstarter

I also noticed he did a fair few illustrations for school books in the 80s. One of my history books had an Oli Frey illustration in, I'm pretty certain it was of Guy Fawkes...though I lost the book yonks back and could very well be wrong.

Re: Games with unforgiving mechanics

A couple of games stand out as having 'problems' in my memory, although there were many. Blue Stinger (Dreamcast), Enemy Zero (Saturn), Myst (Saturn) and Discworld 1 & 2 on PS1. And that horrible Turok 2 (N64) with the wtf? backtracking to find obscurely-hidden switches. God, I hated that game. It s...

Re: Enemies you hate in games

I hate most of the bosses in Trojan (arcade version).

Them little flea guys in the Castlevania games (someone's already mentioned the horrid gorgon/Medusa heads...yuck).

Deathclaws in Fallout...though they're really fun to take down. Hate but in a good way.

All b@st@rds.

Re: Fantasy Art of Oliver Frey (Hardback) Kickstarter

Crazy when you first find out about it, though, innit?

It's just like he Zzap! art...except they're not wearing clothes...and they're all men!!! It amused me to think that all that was going on besides all those Crash and Zzap! covers I was seeing as a kid!

Re: Worst game you've ever bought

Conan's good. Well, not bad. It has many merits. It does an interesting job of faking God Of War on a limited budget and is very playable, once you upgrade your Conan. I can't have a decent game get dissed. Conan's pretty good. (EDIT: I didn't read it right. PS2 version, when I read "PS3"...I'll lea...

Re: The most disappointed you've ever been in a release

StreetFighter 2 Turbo on the SNES. FIFTY pounds for a slightly faster version of the same game with some playable boss characters that weren't really that fun to play as and some murkier-coloured background graphics. Fifty quid was a LOT of money back in 1993. Still a lot, these days. Superb game. B...

Re: Voice acting that spoiled a game for you

Patrick b@stard Stewart doing the voiceovers in that recent 360/PS3 Castlevania game, that stupid, overblown 'Shakespearean' thang he always, ALWAYS does, his voice in that game makes me nauseated, only there to add a faux 'gravitas' to a series of games I don't readily associate with the bald b0ll0...
