Re: Amusing picture thread......

So, I never heard of this before, but apparently some guy will paint WHATEVER YOU ASK FOR in Microsoft Paint. Here's some examples: David Mitchell's Garden Centre Rampage: http://24.media.tumblr.com/e42055a11260f268d5efee1abb04be4c/tumblr_mocctqqA3f1s6ylubo1_500.jpg Jeremy Clarkson Can't Eat Cereal ...

Re: What's your favourite arcade game?

Quite a few, and most of them are pretty universal but I can whittle it down to a few... Hammerin' Harry Blimey, that one was a rarity to find. I only ever saw it in one place, a holiday camp site games room just outside Newquay, Cornwall. Cracking game, though, but I never managed to get past the ...

Re: Favourite Light gun games...

Do you know, I just realised I didn't even mention the totally brilliant Police 24/7 in the arcades. IF ONLY this idea had been implemented into a slightly better game, like Time Crisis. For those not in the know, the frame around the game could detect the movement of your head and body, thus to hid...

Re: Unlockable Content

Having bundles of unlockable content was pretty awesome. The Tekken games were good for that, but what about Fighter's Megamix? The absolute best set of unlockables has to be Resident Evil 4:Wii Edition. Besides the little extra standard missions (Separate Ways and Assignment Ada), and of course wea...

Re: Favourite Light gun games...

Nice list Fishta! Having a 'discussion' on another forum about whether Mad Dog Mcree deserves a place but hey... I like it despite it perhaps not being that great an actual game... The thing with Mad Dog McRee is that it finally showed how Laserdisc technology could be used to make a "good" game. I...

Re: Favourite Light gun games...

Never liked Spectrum Operation Wolf with the Magnum gun, it made the screen flash horribly, and was not very accurate, no matter how well it was calibrated, Rookie on the same tape was alright though, despite the white flashes. Rookie... hell yes, how the hell did I forget that one. Solar Invasion,...

Re: Favourite Light gun games...

Sega's Saturn/Arcade Enforcer lightgun was by far the most accurate in both the home and arcades, but nothing else compared to Namco's recoil arcade guns. Best light gun games over the years are, without doubt: Virtua Cop 3 (Arcade, not exactly retro, but the best LG game EVER) Time Crisis 2 (Arcade...

Re: Engaged!

Many congratulations! Great news! If you do do a retro-gaming themed wedding, perhaps the moment of ring exchanging could be accentuated by holding the mrs above your head, like Link does when he acquires something. http://static.giantbomb.com/uploads/scale_medium/0/5911/519531-windwakerpig.jpg http...

Re: For fathers and future fathers of Retrogamer

Wii Sports was probably their real introduction, but the eldest daughter got hooked on Spyro on the PS2, preferred the Megadrive Collection on the PS3 to titles such as Little Big Planet, and was genuinely amazed that games used to load from cassettes at one time. The younger daughter is a big fan o...

5 points - Soul Calibur 2
3 points - IK+
1 point - Fighters Destiny

Wow. That was actually really hard.

Re: Annoying/bad things in great games.....

Wasn't so bad in Uncharted 3, but in the first two, lots of dying from trying to make jumps along wall-climbing sections where I really SHOULDN'T have died was frustrating. Especially when I was trying to earn the 75 kills without dying trophy.

Re: My Day At The Arcades.

So, I went back to Southport last weekend... Here's the Dinosaur game I was on about... surprised to see it was by Sega! http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/1557/p1110172e.jpg Next to it, a Guitar Hero and some kind of Motorbike game. http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/7977/p1110173s.jpg Going the ot...
