Re: School computers

I use to spent every minutes doing drawings on the software called Paintspa . I think Caxton was SPA software, like Paintspa. If anyone ever finds a copy of caxton on the net or has it, and can give me it i would love them forever! Talking of SPA software they seem to have disappeared even off goog...

Re: Retro TV that nobody seems to remember...

That sounds pretty cool.. What happened to the Blakes' 7 return that was hinted at for some time, even returning the services of Paul Darrow to play Kerr Avon?

Re: Jdanddiet's Game Music Quiz

Pah. Number 6 I *KNOW* beyond absolutely any doubt. No 8 is on the tip of my tongue, but can't *quite* recall.

Not an inkling on the rest! And I thought I knew Computer Game music pretty well. D'oh!

Re: Food/Drink from the past

I seem to be the only person I know who remembers Pyramints!

I loved them, even though they were prohibitively expensive. Anybody else remember them?

Re: Introduce yourself

I've finally decided to break my virginity here after joining nearly a year ago! Long time retro fan, bought every issue so far of Retro Gamer, still got them all (so no doubt someone will want to buy issue 1 at some point), in great condition with one binder and pin badge, the "Waggle My Joystick" ...

Re: Blog

I've been writing a few retro reviews of my own over time, always busy with work and the kids, but I try to cover some decent games. Unfortunately I always fall behind in updating the links on the website itself. My website is at http://www.fishsta.co.uk , whilst my retro writings can be found at ht...

Re: If the controller fits..

All third party Gamecube controllers that I've tried are terrible - you just have to have an official one. So very very true. I'm not a big fan of the PS controller design to be honest, think they should swap the D-pad and the left analogue stick around. The Wii controller suffers the same problem ...

Re: Retro TV that nobody seems to remember...

Even my 5 year old daughter loves Knightmare and wants to play a similar thing using a bucket and cushions at home! Which brings me nicely around to... Wouldn't Knightmare work well as a modern game? Online, Dungeoneer has a blank screen, advisors speak over the microphones to guide him through the ...

Re: Whats the longest loading time ever in a game?

Chances are they didn't pretend, one of my jobs when i did shop work was aligning and cleaning tape decks. I know, no offence intended, but we knew some staff did "pretend" to fix a problem just to get rid of a customer. It still happens today! If the screen was turned on, it wasn't using the stock...

Re: Whats the longest loading time ever in a game?

I wish I could remember what it was, but I remember my Spectrum +2A developing a loading problem. My parents took me and it to the local Dixons to test/fix it. When we arrived, there was a family there who had just had their Commodore 64 in, and were loading a game to test it. My Spectrum had its Az...

Re: TI-99 4/A Retroinspection ?

I still have two working TI99/4As, and personally would love to see a retroinspection. TI Invaders is easily the best ever version of Space Invaders, Parsec is a wonderful game, Munch Man a great Pac-Man clone (Shift-838 for the cheat mode anyone?), just a shame the joysticks were so crap. My brief ...
