Re: Wombledon: A thread

Beaten in 62 minutes, 6-1 6-2. In my book, that's a thrashing.

Ouch.

Re: Wombledon: A thread

He's a battler alright. It's the crowd though - I just really dislike the Wimbledon crowd. 90% won't have a clue about tennis the other 50 weeks of the year, but all of a sudden they're painting their faces in the Union Jack, draping themselves in the flag and crying when he loses a point, or cheer...

Agreed, going down 6-1 in the first set must have really stirred her up, the comeback was something special.

British Tennis hasn't looked so competitive in a long long time.

Re: Teletext

I used to regularly visit the Mensa page, Bamboozle, Turner the Worm, and yes, I do remember the Knightmare text adventure (that was pretty awesome.)

Otherwise these days I pretty much just use text for Rugby League scores/news, that's about it.

Re: Wombledon: A thread

Nadal is without doubt an AMAZING tennis player, but has suffered a lot with that knee of his. Andy Murray, whatever the result, is a Brit. He won us medals at the Olympics, remember, and I have to say I'm impressed so far with Laura Robson, too. Personally, I'd love to have seen Bahrami win Wimbled...

Re: Spectrum 128k confusion.

What was that program that was either given away with Your Sinclair or was a type-in from Your Sinclair that made non-compatible games work on the +2A?

It worked with Rambo Part 2, I remember. And also "Empire" which YS gave away not long before.

they cannot all be pluged in and set up at once does he have to move the whole thing to plug a different machine in? Why not? I suspect the two boxes in the bottom left corner are splitter boxes or some type of PVR/VCR units. Hence why that corner has SIX holes behind it rather than just one. I rec...

Re: Favourite Light gun games...

Bloody hell, I had one of those guns, exactly the same, LOVED the satisfying click on the trigger, but like you I don't know what console it was with. I seem to remember my brother-in-law let me play with it as a child, it was off a console he had that didn't work anymore, so was useless to him. I a...

Another similar game worth a crack if you like this kind of thing is Heavy Barrel.

Look at the weapon you get when you collect all the pieces of the "Heavy Barrel"!
