Re: Sharp MZ-700 series

Hmmmm, Sharp MZ700 Strange machine that never really fitted in anywhere, Sharp had released a couple of moderately successful MZ business machines in the UK and this was an attempt to get into the home market. Excellent quality of construction, space on board for a tape deck and a Microprinter - tha...

Re: Overrated games!

This is probably as bad as drawing a cartoon about the prohet mohammed,

But I'm afraid I phuqing hated Super Mario Kart, I bought it based on magazine reviews and hated it from the minute its foul brand of cuteness soiled my SNES.

Re: The 8 Bit tech comparison Thread

All the comparisons are a bit pointless really, C64 and Atari 8bits as with the other machines of the time all had their own little spec differentials that were in some way better or worse than a rivals machine. eg: colour range CBM16 and plus 4 are miles better than the c64, the Atari is miles bett...

Re: Never released on your computer/console

The only one that seriously pissed me off - was the lack of ELITE on the Atari 8 Bits.
Given some of the lazy Z80 ports I've seen on the Atari's it may be no bad thing (Jet set willy springs to mind!)

Re: The 8-bit GAME COMPARISON Thread

Going back to Fractalus, The order of merit is spot on, I do however think that the biggest dissapointment was the Apple version - given the relative prices of the machines (this seems to be the case with most apple conversions:- how it became so popular in the U.S as a games platform continually be...

Re: S.O.S. regarding the Texas Instruments TI-99/4a

Awwww poor baby needs mater and pater to pick his machines for him :( Did it never occur that being individuals offered choices - we may infact pick the machine we like the most:- as opposed to buying one "because my mates have got one" 2.5 million machines sold is hardly a failure is it? The machin...

Re: S.O.S. regarding the Texas Instruments TI-99/4a

Why did our parents buy us these machines? MMMM - lets see, well it didn't need the power cable pulled out the back to power down, it lacked a crappy rubber keyboard, it lacked single channel beeping, it lacked censored poor display capabilities with colour clash and dot crawl, it lacked the need fo...
