Re: Can you justify using pirated software.

If suppliers, developers and manufacturers had knocked their collective heads together and agreed reasonable prices for software, the problem would never have gotten as bad as it did. 8 bit tape pirating was supposedly killing the industry, the companies responded by shifting their focus back toward...

Re: Worst consoles/computers of all time

Not quite sure about the title of this thread, it reads as "worst consoles/computers of all time" yet most people seem to be commenting not on the machines capabilities but on popularity. Possibly better renaming it-"worst selling/least popular consoles/computers of all time". Eg- the Elan Enterpris...

Re: Worst 8-bit arcade conversion ever?

Some British developers badly needed a kick up the fannyflaps, the conversion of Jet Set Willy for the Atari 8 bits was a complete pile of donkey genitals lovingly garnished with AIDS infected vomit. As mentioned-Green beret on the A8 was also incredibly bad, hard to believe this was the same machin...

The spectrum games were not actually cheaper, the other version were in fact-more expensive, you have to pay a premium for colour and sound.

Re: What game (if any) would you give a 0%

Impressed with this thread so far, it actually took 4 pages before the first attention seeker trying to be " edgy and cool " trots out a well known and loved game. o% for mariokart in any circumstances is just a silly thing to say. Its obviusly a good game and well made even if its not you type of ...

The finished version of SabreWulf is now available on the ti99/4a, do yourself a favour and get a copy of Classic99 emulator and try it out, the cartridge version features everything from the original-complete with title page and multi channel music. http://atariage.com/forums/index.php?app=core&mod...

If you want to see what VCS hardware can do when pushed, check out the link above. It is an updated version of Donkey Kong and it looks better than some 8 bit computer versions that I have played.

Re: Discuss 135: Do you emulate and why do you do it?

I use emulation mainly for programming or testing code, it does help that you can run more than one environment at a time on a PC. For most classic computing experiences you cannot beat the real thing, I would use my real stuff even more if I had the room to hook them all up at the same time, due to...
