Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 142

The printed article pictures seem to concentrate on the ti99/4, I would have thought that the focus of any illustrations should have been primarily on the 4a as it was the machine that was and is still used the most, the 4a used in a couple of pictures was a heftily worn aluminium "Frankenstein" wit...

A note on the TI feature, what landfill did you get the machines in the pictures from?, Fluffy hell they must have had a hard life.

In Nintendo world it would be similar to having a Zelda game plugged into a SNES whilst the screen was showing R-Type.

Re: Discuss Time! Issue 141 Your first gaming purchase

My very first computer game was Alpiner for the ti99/4a, really came into it's own when I eventually got my speech synthesizer.
My first Console game was Star Raiders (with video touch pad) for the Atari 2600.

Re: Hardware enhanced cartridge games.

I have recently purchased 2 "new" cartridges for my ti99/4a-both of which require 32K memory expansions to run. One of these is the Homebrew version of SabreWulf, the other is called "The Smooth Scrolling Trilogy"-which includes a great version of Scramble complete with speech synthesis. Both of the...

Re: Can you justify using pirated software.

Companies like Mastertronic showed what could be done when the price was right, I seriously doubt that software piracy had any kind of serious effect on them or any of the other budget labels. Get the price point right and piracy suddenly does not seem as attractive. Again, I would refer to my previ...

Re: Worst Sound from a Console or Computer?

A lot of folk seem to think that the Speccy data transfer sounded horrible, I quite liked it, much better than the monotone screech, pause, screech, pause of the Atari 8 bits.
