Re: From the Forum issue 113 Amiga

Colonization for me, Civ with extra micromanagement of settlements? It was the start of my love for turn based strategy after missing most of the pioneers.

After that... The old Sensible Soccer demo disk with the ball replaced by a hand grenade!

Re: Megadrive Screenshot Challenge (aka Sega Genesis)

38, there were a few more of those 50/50 chances where I go the wrong way but again happy with that. I've got a mid-late 30s average on these so far which I'll happily accept!

Re: X-Com: Enemy Unknown

While I'll agree about the fewer maps being a big negative I won't say the gameplay simplification is a bad thing and to an extent agree with the changes they made. I saw 'er indoors having a go and doing alright which I'd never have seen on the original but it was complex enough to give her a chall...

Re: Skeleton of Richard III found in dig.

Rumour has it (at least around archaeological circles) when C4 got wind of what they were trying to do they were prepared for it to go either way which is why they got one of the guys from Horrible Histories to front it, if it WAS him, he'd be able to cover the historical and serious side of things ...

Re: 2012/13 Football season chat

I guess we got confirmation that the "everything's fine honest!" statement made following the "Georgie Boyd is blind" farce on deadline day was a load of rubbish.

In other news, I wish Stevenage could play every league game on a Tuesday night, we never seem to lose then!

Re: The worst game In the world ever, Round 1, Heat B

Wasn't the winner of this poll buried out in a desert somewhere? I believe so, right up until Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz accidentally managed to bring him back and all manner of plagues were unleashed. You mean ET for the Atari, right? No, no I do not... Unless of course the above actors have ...

Quite right... Can't read proper and missed the six for some stupid reason. Carry on and I'll go back to lurking

So... What games went through? There's half a dozen tied in that 4th slot so curious to see what went through.

Only got 57 but really should've got more of them again. Far too many of them were "why did you go with that....?" to me but never mind. Ready to have an awful go at the next one you come up with!

Re: Interesting Metacritic article

I don't really take reviews that seriously anymore but I do check them out before buying a game (unless part of a series I'm always going to buy regardless) via metacritic. Due to the links and easy access to a lot of different sources I can read through a fair amount at once and that'll give me a w...

Re: Did you get any "Retro" themed gifts for...

A pacman stress ball. I sense a theme here.... Same, I also got one of the ghosts as well, I think my brother realised how much he can irritate and decided to get me two! Also Pacman mug, one of those temperature ones that change with hot liquid in. A cup of tea manages to show the game screen "in ...

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?

Return of the King - extended edition. Bizarre that LOTR had to wait until the final instalment before winning anything at the Oscars. What if something more rewarding had been released the year it won? Great film, though. Think it was a certainty the minute the first film was made the finale would...

Re: GTA San Andreas on PSN

I won't be buying it for that price but it's one of my favourite games. Some of the mini games (spend time bulking up to look good for this girl who's useful in this mission) were pointless but for the most part I was able to get into it. I can see why people don't necessarily like In Da Hood stuff ...

Re: Skyrim

On PS3 in particular, we turned our attention to Dragonborn, as we thought it was the best content to release first, and we didn’t want folks to wait longer. Once it’s ready to go for everyone, we’ll continue our previous work on Hearthfire and Dawnguard for PS3. Each one takes a lot of time and at...
