Re: Doctor Who Community Buzzing With Rumours

The decision has managed to make me interested so I can only say it's a good thing. In recent years I've not been a big fan, finding myself not minding if I miss an episode and was only kept interested in the last one to see the reveal of John Hurt (I mean, it WAS announced before the series even be...

This is the official response of the Kendo Nagasaki organisation to the rumours that Kendo will be appearing at an event at the Fairfield Halls, Croydon, on 17th November 2013: There is no agreement between the Kendo Nagasaki organisation and any other party that Kendo Nagasaki will appear at the N...

Re: 2013/14 Football season chat

£85m for Bale? Be crazy not to sell him. What's the chances that they'll ask for Modric as part of the deal? And if he goes o Madrid (as he surely must) does that mean Ronaldo is on his way to Man Utd or Chelsea? Can't see both of those players in the same team. The biggest issue is that Spurs prob...

Re: 2013/14 Football season chat

I've really liked them, they're massive outsiders and they know it but they're going to go out and enjoy themselves and go down fighting. If that had been someone like England they'd have sat back and tried to hit Spain on the break in a real borefest but they just went out there and gave it ago and...

Re: 2012/13 Football season chat

Arsenal spend £52 million more each year on players than Spurs. It bought them one point. This might be why Spurs fans are blasé and content that in a year without a recognisable striker, and injuries to key players for the majority of the season they still broke a points record and took it to the w...

Re: Doctor who series finale name of the Doctor

I was very impressed with how they pulled off the spoiler and red herring there. They openly publicised the ending but by doing so in The Sun people just assumed it was bogus and so nobody saw it coming. This is the first time Steven Moffat has ever pulled off a swerve properly. Shame about the actu...

Re: Thatcher's dead!!!

I've been to Cambodia and the Killing Fields, I've seen the bones still sticking out of the ground. Thatcher's government allowed the SAS to train the Khmer Rouge. And for that alone she can burn, as far as I'm concerned. Shame she wasn't brought to trial for war crimes. So yep thats obviously very...

Re: wrestling

I wish the people who travel for Mania weekend turned up for the UK tour dates. If they created an atmosphere like last night whenever they came over here we'd probably get a big time PPV back just for reactions like that.

Re: Subculture hate crimes

Or am I misunderstanding it? Yes, you are! It's not about altering the prosecution or punishment of a crime. It's about the process of recording, tracking and hopefully preventing such behaviour in the future, as well as offering appropriate support to the victims, relatives and communities affecte...

Re: Subculture hate crimes

I just had a quick look through that, but surely kicking someone to death is just as much of a crime as kicking a Goth to death. What difference does it make? If you killed someone like that, then the law should be the same. It's not an isolated occurance and that's the thing. It came to a head in ...

Re: Warhammer 40K

turn based WH games would be great. While I loved Dark Omen and Shadow of The Horned Rat for the basic real time strategy and Space Hulk for the FPS probably my favourite GW based game was Final Liberation, massive turn based sci-fi battles with loads of customisation options for army composition. R...

Re: Tropes and sexism in gaming.

Been wondering, so UFC now has a womens division, does that mean the next UFC game will let you play as women? Probably but I can't imagine EA being too big on on a game where women can be beaten bloody. They have had women in the WWE games for years, I put a woman through a table the other day on ...

Re: EA to have microtransactions in all games

Ultimately it's about implementation as to how much of a deal breaker it is. An example to look at is the latest Tiger Woods. One of my annoyances about it is how online reliant it tends to be for so many little factors. Like most games there's DLC content in the shape of extra courses, in this howe...

Re: Is the Playstation 3 a failure

They made mistakes but ultimately the PS3 has come good. Not had a problem with mine in 5 years (didn't realise I'd had it that long until 'er indoors pointed out the anniversary of moving in together!), had plenty of enjoyment out of the games and it's been the one stop shop for all our entertainme...

Re: The next XBox - Always online, no second-hand games...

The always online is a clincher to saying no for this one. While unlike some I've been happy with the PS3 and don't have any major problems with Sony, the wider XBLA stuff had me considering going over but I don't have an internet connection in the flat due to the dire and constantly breaking signal...
