EPIC WIN. If I ever had the cash, I would seriously consider getting that in my living room.

Re: Emulation vs The real thing my opinion

Agreed for the most part; it's not very rare I know, but when I found a mint copy of Twilight Princess for the GameCube I was overjoyed and couldn't wait to get home to play the hell out of it. Like you've said there's just something about actually having the game in your hands, along with the casin...

Re: Bizarre & Unusual Games

Blimey! I obviously have not been looking nearly hard enough! Thanks for the MAME suggestions especially Tepid Snake ; I found Sexy Parodius last night and have fond memories of the series on the SNES. Not really something you can call mental, but nice humorous enemy sprites nonetheless (and a...

Re: From the forum question for issue 69

Crrrraaaaaaaazy Taxi ! Awesome score attack game, blindingly fast and funny. Man, I don't even want to think how much money I've pumped into that game over the years. It's the one arcade machine I simply have to play if I see it in an arcade. :) A close second for me is House of the Dead - I don't ...

Re: Do you buy game strategy guides?

It depends very much on the content of the strategy guides; if it's purely just stats and walkthroughs I can get that stuff off GameFAQs However, on the other end of the spectrum are books such as The Art of Disgaia 1/2 - interviews with VAs, developers and artists and a ton of gorgeous artwork to p...

Vib Ribbon! I remember reading about that one ages ago. Never played it though.

And I'll see your Nude Miss World and raise with Pachinko Sexy Reaction 2

Re: Issue 67 Feedback

First time buyer here, and I have to say I was really impressed by the mag. The Bomberman feature was really cool - some of my best memories come from playing the SNES game with some mates. Fun times! :D The feature on Japanese retro games was fascinating. ...One small niggle though, I couldn't help...

Re: Bizarre & Unusual Games

Japan has a knack for this. The 3DO was very cheap to license and make games for. Japan + cheap game development = weird stuff. My two favorites on the 3DO: Hyper Commanche http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erm54IIEt5k&feature=channel_page Oyaji Hunter (old man hunter) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n...

Re: Recommend me some sandbox style games for my 360.

I'm not completely sure if this game quite fits into 'Sandbox' but I found Viva Pinata 1/2 to be lots of fun, and incredibly relaxing too! It's a great game to sit down with your little 'uns, as you can play at your own pace. :)

Bizarre & Unusual Games

I've just finished reading the latest issue of Retro Gamer , and the End/Game feature at the back. Trio The Punch sounds like great fun, and I was left wondering: where have all the imaginative and quirky titles gone? It strikes me that in the current industry anything that tries to have a little pe...

Re: Is 'retro gaming' more about the age of games, or the style?

For me it's several things, really: Some genres are for the most part retro IMO. 2D fighters such as Guilty Gear and KoF 12 are technically very impressive, with incredible visuals (and a banging soundtrack in GG's case), but they are still at heart following a set formula that had been established ...
