Re: Portable NES

I love how mental these look... the nomad was a bit bulky when you had the EA Mega Drive carts... but NES carts just look hilarious.

Re: Finally bought my own laptop.

It is pretty expensive.. but it does have a bluray drive, dedicated graphics card and all that. So providing you're willing to pay the money for the drive, and then the money for the discs, then why not? Personally I've had a look at blu-ray and the difference in quality certainly doesn't justify th...

Re: PSP or DS? Which one shall I get??

Both me and 2heads have given decent lists of games for each system, dood. If you're not going to flash either I suggest you look at them and think to yourself 'which sounds more appealing?' It's pretty silly to reccomend the DS to someone that really likes Racing games, and it's not a great idea to...

Re: University...

Uhh... you still get grants now. You can't live off the entire grant and it depends on your / your parents finacial situation, but you do still get sizeable ones. Mine is well over 2 grand for the year.

Re: Recommend me some sandbox style games for my 360.

No one wants to mention Prototype? It may not be the worlds best game or the most 'free' but it's still pretty fun and I'm pretty sure it fits the definition of sandbox, dood. I also second Crackdown... it was made towards the start of the 360s life so it's not exactly GTA4... then again, I think th...

Re: Does new technology make you go Wow!!

I love new technology dood... I just can't afford any of it! To be honest I'm still amazed with just how things like cameras and Wi-Fi actually work and being a simple sort, I prefer to wallow in my ignorance. Makes it more magical that way! Those chavs on the bus though...they should treat it like ...

I already said he should go for it, dood.

I'm just saying that Blue sky thinking in the current job climate is hardly well placed. Don't confuse realism for negativity.

Re: University...

Well you got the 2pm thing right anyway. I used to get up at 7am to get to work on time, and that involved a 30 minute walk then an hour on public transport in Kent, which isn't known for it's amazing bus service. Now when we have a lecture at 11pm it's like... seriously? We have to be on campus by ...

Re: Would this be a difficult job?

Qualifications are pretty much everything in the IT sector. That's both from personal experience and being told by an IT recruitment agency on my first job. We're not talking degrees so much here, but how many people do you think say "Hey, I know about computers, I can do this job?"... you need proo...

Re: Anyone else having problems with finances lately?

Get this though - she doesn't like Chinese food. So if we go out anywhere remotely posh I'm stuck in a bloody itallian with lots of girly salads and boring pasta/fish combinations and end up paying £20+ for a pizza that would have cost me a fiver from the local takeout place ;]

Re: University...

I don't think I know a single person that had a girlfriend at the start of uni that actually kept them for more than a few months... especially the girls. In freshers so many girls I met we're like "Me and my boyfriend are so strong!!!" and by the time induction was over they'd be sleeping with ever...

Re: Would this be a difficult job?

No reason not to go for it. Having worked in both 3rd and 1st line IT support I can tell you that you've got very little chance of getting that job without any previous experience or IT certificates, though. Not to be negative but I don't think we had a single person in our office that wasn't at lea...
