Re: Best Colecovision games

Haha, yeah the colecovision standard controllers are the worst i've ever used, they definitely got that that part wrong. Saw a couple of cool mods for them though, i'm going to do one where your fit a 9 pin d-sub connecter as a pass through, i think its just for a few game that won't let you select ...

Re: Best Colecovision games

The Vectrex is certainly an oddball machine with unique capabilities, but I wouldn't say that there's anything particularly special about the Colecovision. It was basically just made out of off-the-shelf chips; the processor is a Z80 and the graphics and sound chips were the same ones used in the t...

Re: Arcade stick wanted for Mame: which one?

Well I received mine. It's quite a bit bigger than I expected but it's very good. Only problem is that I'm not used to it yet. When playing a platform game where up = jump, I end up jumping by accident quite a lot of the time. Its the short throw and loose nature of the sanwa sticks, the reason i d...

Re: Arcade stick wanted for Mame: which one?

Yeah I like them as well. The Keyboard thing can be sorted by plugging it into a connector for a console then a relevant console to PC joy box Thusly Xarcade>>PS1/2 connector >>PS1/2 to USB joybox. It thinks its a PS2 stick The issue i was refering to is related to the number of buttons that can be...

Re: Arcade stick wanted for Mame: which one?

The X-arcade isn't bad, i got mine earlier this year. I have no problems with the sticks or the trackball (mines the tankstick) Actually 2 sticks is handy for games like Robotron, besides that you could have one for 4 way (for games like Pacman) and one for 8 way. (for all other games) The sticks ar...

Re: Question about video quality on Mega Drive

I still think it might be the power supply, as i mentioned previously i've seen this before (big rolling bar's) and it was a power supply issue. Still, its an investment though to buy a new power supply just to run a test. Do you know anybody you could borrow one from? Aside that, if you buy a new m...

Re: Question about video quality on Mega Drive

I've modded quite a few megadrives over the last 6 months and the picture quality varies more than i would ever have thought. Some are brighter, some sharper and don't even start about the sound differences, a lot of megadrives 2's are so bad its beyond belief. The problem you have though could well...

Re: Chasing Ghosts

I preferred it to King of Kong, you got a lot more back story & got to learn a bit more depth to the people involved. Depth? They were all shallow, soulless creatures of the night! Not at all, most documentaries are edited to portray people as the producer's desire. ie King of Kong Chasing Ghosts s...

Re: Chasing Ghosts

This is a really good watch, such a shame that its never received a dvd release.
There's 2 versions available, pre-release and edited t.v version.
Its the unedited version you've seen B&B, hence the art collection.

Re: Snes Halp!

Just to clear this up, you can't use a gamecube rgb cable on a Uk snes, it will however work on a Us snes. If you want to use the game cube rgb lead you need to open up the scart head (which is pretty tricky) and remove 3 capacitors. This might leave the picture a little bright so to further improve...

Re: What Genesis carts work on a Pal Megadrive

F-zero just summed it up pretty well there. I found this out trying to play a PAL copy of castlevania at 60Hz on my switched megadrive. It plays fine if you switch it over after the start-up screen though! I have a feeling Streets of Rage 2 did this too, but thats not exactly a late release? Yeah, ...

Re: What Genesis carts work on a Pal Megadrive

The vast majority of jap/uk/us games will work on any system whether they be 50 or 60hz Some games however, usually later in the systems life used certain protection's to stop importing. The megadrive has 4 settings depending on region, eng/jap language and 50/60hz. All the regional variations use 2...
