Re: Help me name this game

If it isn't actually a coin-op, it could be the mediocre MD shmup XDR.

It has a cave level, letters for power-ups, a white/blue shield...

Re: Do linear platform games have less long term appeal?

I remember cleaning automobiles and doing a paper route just to buy my NES. I was so excited. I remember when I hooked the NES to my TV - the innovative controller felt so right and the games - the games! - were awesome! I stayed up all night drinking root beer and listening to the Knicks on the rad...

Re: Matts "I Want A Duo Engine" Sale Thread

I'm interested in the intellivision games:

Lock N Chase (intellivision, squashed box, 1 overlay, manual included) £2.50
Soccer (intellivision, squashed box, 2 overlays, manual included) £2.50

Will have to set up a PayPal account, but one assumes it is relatively painless. :)

Re: Super 8 in 1- is it legit?

It is not legit and there are a few different '8 in 1' SNES carts around. It is likely to be this one with a different label.

A new Breath of Fire game is pretty big news. Shame if it is smartphone/browser only.

DreamcastRIP wrote:'Remember renting video games from the video shop?'

Nope. I've never rented a videogame from a 'video shop' or any other source.
Nor me. I don't know anyone who did, either.

About the nearest I got to this was swapping/loaning VCS carts, Speccy/C64 games, Amiga disks etc.

Re: Renegade Cassette box

Both examples of Renegade artwork are superb.

Did they choose Doom or Final Fantasy for the cover of the magazine?

Does anyone know if the link in the first post is permanently dead, or if it might rise phoenix-like from the ashes of death?

Re: SNES "less well known" must plays

Racketboy has compiled a pretty decent list of 'undiscovered' SNES games. Many of the games are well-known, but there are some great obscure games there.

I started, but it was too easy, and stopped at number ten. Some of the wrong answers were from different genres completely!

I noticed somewhere saying CvS2 is on PSN now?
I would love to see more Capcom/SNK crossovers.

Still, a new KoF is in the works for next year, for the series' twentieth anniversary. :)

Re: Classic compilations

Taito Legends 1 & 2 have to be my favourites. Such great value for fantastic bundles of games. Just a shame the other Taito compilations never reached the UK. Indeed. I would have loved them to have compiled a Taito Legends 3 which had some of the 'missing' games: Chase H.Q., S.C.I., Rastan Saga II...

Re: What game have you COMPLETED this week

Heavy Rain (PS3). An enjoyable experience; had to keep on playing until I saw the end (well, as it turns out, one of the endings). Might have another go one day to see the other plot branches.
