Re: Consoles that are considered poor that you own.

Commodore Plus 4, now this is a dog of a machine in IMO, looks really nice, but for games at the time it was hideous, but even this could be rectified nowadays with some of the 64K remakes that are available on the net, it does play a nice version of Mercenary, and I also have both the ACE games th...

Re: How long did you spend in game shops?

I used to spend hours in game shops back in the 1980's. Nowadays I spend about 5 minutes in them.

Re: Whats your favourite OBSCURE 8bit computer?

The Commodore 16 definitely needs more love. That's where I started and I still have a soft spot for the thing Agreed even the RG Commodore 16 article was poor, didn't even have the 2 pages of game screenshots.. Practically everybody in school with me had Commodore 16's and Plus 4's so both that an...

Re: Why were C64 games dearer than their Spectrum counterpar

I thought because there where more Spectrum owners, so they could sell Spectrum games for less and still make profit.. As less people owned C64's and Amstrads they had to charge more to make money Commodore 16 full price games used to cost about £7.95 each tops, not many went for more than that. Th...

This is hilarious. The town to the right of Perivale is Hanger Lane, the town where I grew up. Even worse is that it keeps sending me straight back to Northolt High school which I hated every moment of lol

Re: Why weren't Arcade quality games in homes during the 80'

We had the Colecovision which was released in 82. Near arcade perfect quality which made every other console at that time look like ridiculous baby toys. I think the reason for it's early demise were the retail price of the game cartridges, wasn't they starting around the £50 mark upwards? I didn't ...

Re: Retro Soccer Games

Microprose Soccer - C64 Probably the best footie game on the C64, with outdoor and indoor modes. Liverpool - (C64) If i recall, it plays similarly to Kick Off. I remember the preview screenshots which showed a completely different game, a side-perspective similar to Interntional Soccer on the C64, t...

Re: Atari hates Atari fans

It's Andrew Davie's domain name, he's owned it for years without problems before and so he shouldn't have to just hand it over. Yes atari2600.org is a main domain name and I guess these are what Atari are now really only after, a domain with just the system in the url. But if Atari wants that domain...

Yeah that was released for the C16, but Trivia which Anirog advertised wasn't, and likely lost forever if coding had ever started.

Re: anyone else collect old videogame magazines?

Mighty impressive magazine collection been after the Commodore User with the Commodore 16 reviews for ages.. Vulture kindly gave me a load for free, but whenever they turn up Evilbay they always hit the £10 mark per issue.. I still much prefer readinf the old mags than the new stuff If you click on...

Sorry, don't have anything for you, but House of Usher on the C16? Are you sure? Never seen it myself, or any reference to it. It's a C64 game isn't it :? A friend gave me a Arinog advert(Ripped from his Magazine) years ago and it advertised Commodore 16 House of Usher coming soon.. I'm pretty sure...

Re: Charity Shops

I must visit the wrong charity shops, all the ones in Ealing never have any video games! What was the name of that small computer game shop back in the 1980's down High Street next to the Broadway Shopping Mall? Was just one of my main sources for Commodore 16 games. Bought my first C64 game "Kikst...

Re: Hawkeye

It looked good, but all the visual/audio pazzazz in the world doesn't make a great game. I wasn't keen on the demo so never bought it. It was average at best. Flimbo's Quest being very similar too if I recall.
