Re: Xbox 360 - Tenth birthday thread-oh

Currently enjoying the original Crackdown at the mo and having a blast. Never really like the open sandbox games before but I love the over the top nature of it. Killed all the bosses then reanimated them for more mayhem and achievements! :D

Re: ailments

My brother has been suffering from Laryngopharyngeal reflux or similar for the last year, it's been diagnosed as a mild hernia, and definitely has not been pleasant. Appetite has been all over the shop, and he's probably lost about 3 stone in total due to under-eating. I feel for your brother. I wa...

Re: ailments

It has affected my vocal chords although I can speak normally. My voice will occasionally break if it gets really bad but what I did notice was that my ability to produce higher pitched sounds has been almost eradicated. Constant clearing of the throat plus acid/pepsin/bile exposure has caused some...

Re: WatchMojo's idiotic worst console list.

Sega, after the 16bit generation, created hardware primarily for arcade style, and multiplayer gaming. If you were a billy no mates and/or didn't grow up in the arcades, then chances are the Saturn and the Dreamcast weren't for you. That wasn't a failure for Sega. They targeted an audience and done...

What exactly do ISIS want? Does anyone actually know? Do they actually know? Is it just a general destruction of western civilisation? Do they want world war? Is that what they are trying to instigate? If they caused the world as we know it to burn in nuclear fire would that fit in with their heave...

Re: Steam Machines are comming

Essentially, Valve is making the same mistake companies like Commodore, Atari, Apple and Amstrad did when they thought that turning a computer into a console would bring them success while not actually having the kind of support and financial backing that grants success in this hard business. Micro...

Re: Steam Machines are comming

Dear Gabe, When Steam Machines were announced I was very excited. It's been a while since there was new console games platform and one based on an established service was a very appealing idea to me. I felt the idea of various machines at various price points being "good", "better", "best" was fair ...

Re: Bad games aren't as bad as in the bad old days

I think its harder for companies to get away with making bad games these days. Its pretty easy to check a video or something of a new release so is pretty much your own fault if you buy a new bad game if its not too your preference thats different to it being a bad game.Back in the day I would buy a...

Re: Why is the PS3 so slow?

I hear and feel your pain. The 360 is light years ahead in this regard. The OS feels like 2 generations behind the 360 and fortunately isn't my main gaming platform.

Re: Bad games aren't as bad as in the bad old days

That's not surprising really. Back in the day people (teenagers mostly) were learning their trade as programmers, often as one person outfits. There were no libraries, middleware and the Internet. There was no definitive reference on game design and difficulty levels. Most reference was made to earl...
