Re: console battle QUARTER FINAL R1 ATARI 2600 VS MASTER SYSTEM

I haven't been paying much attention to these console vs console threads but thought I'd check this one out as I love the 2600. Seriously, what the hell is going on? Who on earth would rank the crappy Master System above the daddy of them all, the 2600? Dear oh dear...

Re: Why did you choose your avatar?

Mine is from the most exciting time to enter an arcade, the early 80's.

Re: Console battle Q7 SUPER NINTENDO VS MEGADRIVE

I owned both. The SNES had my favourite game out of the two (SMW) but overall I played the Megadrive a lot more and I return to it far more frequently than the SNES. Megadrive for the win.

Re: First games you played on each system

This has got me racking my brains but I can remember some: Atari 2600 - Outlaw - a kid round the corner had it and I thought it was amazing. ZX81 - was that Asteroids game that someone mentioned earlier where your ship was a number 0-9 - this was at school Spectrum- think it was Penetrator - also at...

Re: Happy Birthday MAME 20 today.

I remember discovering MAME for the first time and I couldn't quite believe it was true until I got it working. When Bombjack appeared on my screen, all ready to play, it felt like Christmas had come early. From that day on, a whole new world of emulation opened up, giving access to all those long f...

Re: Atari classics volume 1 and 2

32p each for the likes of Atari Video Cube, Basic Math, Chess etc is too much, yes.

Re: Atari classics volume 1 and 2

32p a game isn't great, especially as so many of the better 2600 games are missing. Personally, I own all the 2600 games I like already, on cartridge, plus I can play them all on my PSP or laptop for free, anytime I like. Even so, I'm a sucker for these compilations (I bought the Atari Classics Evol...

Re: Atari classics volume 1 and 2

Bit of a rip off making it into 2 volumes, just greedy for 35-40 year old games.

Re: HMRC ebay

You are not currently buying the trading cards with the intention to make a profit, it would be pretty easy for you to demonstrate that you are a collector and not selling off everything you buy, only the excess stuff you don't need. The videogames have no direct link to the trading cards and would ...

Re: HMRC ebay

There are various factors involved when HMRC look at whether a business is being operated, these being "badges of trade". For example, are you seeking to make a profit, how many transactions have there been, the interval between buying and selling an item, how and when it was bought and sold, have y...

Re: HMRC ebay

I work for HMRC and this isn't new. HMRC have had a specialist section dealing with ebay for some time now and software is used to interrogate ebay transactions. Selling your collection off isn't going to arouse any interest, believe me. They go for the worst offenders, not people trying to make a f...

Re: What are you looking forward too in 2017?

It has to be Shenmue 3. I've just completed the first one again and am nearly halfway through the second. I've been playing it with my 11 year old daughter and she loves it, she wasn't even born the last time I completed it!

Re: Mario coming to phones, iOS first in 2016.

I've bought the full game and I'm enjoying it for what it is and it passes the time on my daily commute to London. I used to pay more than £8 for some Spectrum games, 30 years ago. It's not really that bad a price for a fair few hours of fun is it?

Re: Grandslam Entertainment?

They wrote International Cricket on the Spectrum, one of my favourite games at the time that I still play sometimes. And it was given away free with Your Sinclair as well!
