Re: Official feedback thread for issue 77

Enjoyed the 32x article and the Same Name Different Game feature was nice enough. I secretly hoped it was going to be a Stuart Campbell article because I think his editorial style would suit that type of feature well.

Re: Rainbow Islands - Best Level

I agree, monster island is my favourite. IT's also where the diffculty is ramped up and the real challenge to get the gems in the right order begins.

Up for jump! This is the only game up for jump works in. If you play the arcade version, re-map up for jump and see how perfectly suited it is to the action.

I thought having Doh as a boss was a great crossover to Arkanoid.

Re: Rainbow Islands - Why is it a classic?

IT's great on two levels. You can pick it up and just have fun with it as it so playable. But delve beneath the surface and try to get the gems in the right order and uncover all the secret items takes it to a new level of skill.

Re: Rainbow Islands - Best Conversion

Amiga version was the first version I played and nothing has ever lived up to it. I even prefer it to the arcade because the music sounds too tinny on the arcade!

I don't feel one decimal place is precise enough to describe the conditions of those NES games.

Re: Best Feeling

Nothing has ever beaten the high I felt when I notched up a score of 650 million on the Nightmare table on Pinball Dreams on the Amiga. I keep trying to beat it but I've yet to come even remotely close, 300 million is the best I've managed over recent years. I was definitely in the zone that night.

I have an A3000 as well, definitely one of the best (if not THE best) model Amigas.
I tend to think it as being the best. If I had a choice of only keeping my A3000 or the combination of my A4000/A1200/A500/CDTV/CD32 then I'd keep the 3000... perhaps. :-)

I suppose these two computers are my own holy grails:

SAM Coupé
Amiga A3000

Both of which I have in my collection already thankfully.

Re: From the Forum question for issue 77

i wonder if you have to be of a certain age to equate text adventures that required direct input via a keyboard etc ? I have always considered any adventure with a text parser as a text adventure. This includes wholly text based stuff like the Infocom stuff as well as things like the Hobbit or The ...
