Re: From the Forum question for issue 80

The oft-overlooked and largely underated masterpiece that is Star Wars Supremacy on the PC from 98. Many happy times (all night sessions too) playing this two player over the home network with a mate.

Re: Soldering

So all with your advice on board I revisited this disaster and I'm pleased to report tinning the cable and the pin first really worked a treat. It was still three hours work but the quality of the joins is so much better. I bought some new solder from a proper DIY store in Kingston and it is an impr...

Re: The Sinclair C5

I think it'd be a great one off. A couple of pages dedicated to something like that would be very refreshing. And if you want to tie it into the magazine have a box out listing all the games that featured the C5 :) A day in the Life, Monty on the run, etc etc

I agree Yoshi's Story is the most vomit inducing game I've ever played.

Re: Soldering

I think the fumes coming off the burning plastic wasn't helping my accuracy :) Thanks for the advice, I'll give your tips a go when I calm down at the weekend. The solder I have came out of an IT tool kit I have. It's full of budget items such as solder suckers, an iron, all types of chip extractors...

Soldering

I suck at it. I spent 8 hours in total trying to wire up some custom VGA cables for an Amiga 500 case mod project, finally got them soldered and tested as working. Went to mount the things on the case and half the solders broke off. I need to solder 8 (only 8! I thought that would be simple!) wires ...

Surely the bloody great big RETRO GAMER title gives it away?

The Sumo Digital b loke mentioned Hardwar. This is in my all time top 5 PC games. Any chance of a feature on the making of that?

Re: Rainbow Islands - First Impressions

Both NZS and RI are forever etched into my memory as defining Amiga platform games. Even if they are in themselves conversions and not original titles they are an everpresent reminder of a very awesome time of my life. The golden age of gaming, no doubt about it!

Re: The 8-bit/16-bit SHINOBI comparison thread

I played the Mater System version before any other and nothing lives up to it :) I'll give the Amiga version a whirl as I've not played that. I frequently play GG Shinobi and MS Shinobi on my GBA. Completed both back in the day on the native hardware but so far under emulation not had either luck (w...

I also only played the SNES original, but was a corker. And a superb bundled in game when I bought the SNES.

Re: Your favourite amiga brawler!

I always rather enjoyed Budokan. I've not played it for years so I don't know how well it stands up now, probably not so well. But it had some nice variety with the different disciplines to master.

Re: Lara Croft on the Cover?? Are you KIDDING ME??!?!?!?!

I've never liked the Tomb Raider games but damn I always loved the promo girls on the Eidos stand they used to have at ECTS or FES or whatever shows they used to hold annually at Olympia in the 90s. :D

Re: From the Forum question for issue 79

Ghostbusters is excellent. It works on every format it was ported too. And with a sing along intro sequence! Classic.
