Re: Archer Maclean's Wheelspin

Clive, which Wheel? there seems to be to a cheap Logitech unit and a Logic 3 unit almost 3 times the price. I have a DFP from my GT4 and now used heavily in GT5 days and I love it. Shame it isn't compatible with the WII. (edit - OK it's not as cheap as I thought as factoring shipping doubles the cos...

Re: Archer Maclean's Wheelspin

Ressurecting a long dead thread I managed to pick up a cheap as chips copy from the local Wilkos the other day and have had an absolute ball trying to master this game. It is definitely something that needs to be worked on for more than five minutes to be mastered but it is so rewarding when you do....

Re: ISSUE 82 - Official Feedback Thread

That Iain Lee article on Meeting Miyamoto seems awfully familiar. Is it a re-print from an earlier issue?

Edit: no, I'm confusing it with Meeting Mario, word for word a totally unrelated article, apart from the title having one word the same :)

Re: what kind of gamer are you ?

In the playground, a Spectrum/Sega/Amiga fan boy. Nowadays, the platform is largely irrelevant, but perhaps that is because I can afford any platform I want. Back then, unless your parents were rich and you a spoilt brat, you had to make your choice and stick to it and defend it to the hilt. I suppo...

Re: Tv show turned game

The 8-bit conversion of the Grange Hill show was pretty poor. Certainly no match for Skool Daze. Although it did have the opportunity to buy some smack off a dealer in it!

Re: Using Netbooks for Emulation

why would you even want to bother ? they have an anemic atom processor and a censored rancid vampire video card most have an intel gma 950 video card which is absolute balls for almost anything I have an intel atom based motherboard mounted inside my knackered old Amiga A500 plus. It has slightly i...

Re: From the Forum question for issue 81

GG Shinobi is sublime. Probably the best game on the Game Gear in fact, and definitely the best game in the franchise.

Re: Looking for an MMORPG

They're all addictive mind melting experiences better left alone I think. I played Utlima Online for four or five years pretty solidly, then moved onto LOTRO for a month or two. Then gave that up because I got bored of playing the same damn thing every day. I now get by on the quarterly free weeks C...

Re: Hot Topic - Best Handheld

GBA for me. I can emulate Game Gear, GB and even NGPC on it (a bit slow though). The native games are SNES quality and in the SP form it's a great compact little unit. I have a lynx, game gear and neo geo pocket, but rarely use any as the GBA can do it all, nearly!

Re: Official feedback thread for Retro Gamer 79

Regarding the Gamate feature - before I submitted it I was looking all over the net for an advert I know I'd seen way back in the day. I remember that advert too. I thought the tennis game looked superb. I was ridiculed by my friends for wanting a gamate. As it turned out some of them already were ...

Brill issue. So much good stuff. Best for a while. Massive thumbs up. The Gamate article (that was unexpected!) is the crowning glory of one of the best issues of the year. More obscure things please!

Re: Official Feedback Thread - Issue 78

The Magnetic Scrolls article: Two to avoid. Not being a commercial success on their original release isn't really a valid reason to avoid them is it? Is there a real reason to pass over them ?The article suggests by the time those two came out text adventures were a thing of the past, but I don't th...
