Some of you must go to really crap cinemas. Nothing I've seen for the home is as good as going to the cinema. In a cinema you get excellent surround sound and a massive screen. At home you can get the sound if you spend enough, but the screen isn't anywhere near as big. Also I've never had a problem...

I've never played the Spectrum versions, but I liked each of them on the C64. I'm a big fan of the films, so that helped. The avatar I use for an Aliens forum is an animated GIF from the UK Aliens game: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/paul.a.kitching/pics/aliens.gif I thought the C64 version of the UK ...

Batman Begins

I'll be seeing King Kong soon, so that might soon be one of my "best of 2005".

Also does anyone remember "Treasure Trap" on the Amiga. I do. I never managed to finish it, but I did get quite far. I put a piece of plastic film (used for overhead projectors) on the screen and drew over the map, then put blobs of blu-tak on the locations I had cleared. It was important to plan y...

This is something that really annoys me. I have never bought a Marathon since they changed the name (though I have eaten them since). I will never buy Opel Fruits, and as for Jif: I will never buy it. You may see a theme here :) I know it won't make a difference, but I stick to my principles. It's t...

LeeT thought of doing a computer version of Top Trumps in this thread. I didn't realise that there was a "create your own TT" application. I might have a go some time, with old computers as the theme. Unless RG do one for the cover of the mag as Lee suggested. The only "real" TTs I have at the momen...

Knowing the programmers did make it more interesting. The Diary of a Game for Paradroid is one of the most memorable things Zzap! ever did (I even call the individual projects on my website "The diary of a <insert project name>"). If I knew that a particular programmer had made a game, I would check...

An example of why you had to be there go get the "full effect": About a week ago, I got an N64 emulator. I never had an N64 (or most of the consoles - I went the computer route, not the parallel route through console city). I have heard many people say how good Goldeneye is, so I played through it. ...

Re:

I agree, you had to be there to fully appreciate the games. Anyone these days playing the C64 versions of Ghostbusters or Impossible Mission cannot really understand how amazing it was to hear the speech and see the amazing animation of the IM character. I disagree. The magic ingredients, which mak...

Uh, as I said earlier, there was a home conversion of Bomb Jack for the Amiga. Sorry. I thought you must have been talking about Mighty Bombjack. I did a quick search in Google and it kept mentioning that version, so I assumed that was the one. I've just had a go of the Amiga one. The music is horr...
