Re: PLAY EXPO (formerly Replay), 12-13 October 2013, Manches

There did seem to be someone going round deliberately sabotaging all the Amstrads though. Every time I went past on it had been '10 print 20 goto 10'. I'm assuming it was a Spectrum fan jealous of it's colour. Though that wouldn't explain the Green Screen one running Roland in the Caves. How I love...

Re: Where did you shop?

Used to buy Amstrad games from Microtron in Pontefract, music from Rocola records (also in Pontefract), then in the early 90's used to buy CD's/video's etc from the old HMV and Virgin records shops in Leeds (before they both relocated). I'll always remember when HMV had a huge stack of Pioneer laser...

Re: Renting videotapes

Gullivers travels was obviously for me and m...

Re: Your first Lego set

My first Lego was a big homebrew beer making bucket 3/4 full of various bricks n stuff, also 12 of the lighter grey 1970's road boards. I always regretted giving it away to my young cousin as it was never appreciated!!! Years later When my little boy was at the right age we started to buy him Lego, ...

Re: VHS tapes!

Forgot to mention this when I bought it, but I now have one of those USB video capture devices. One problem - even after installing the driver software and adjusting the settings, I can't get the audio to sound even half-decent. Maybe that's down to the fact that you connect the audio capture to th...

Re: VHS tapes!

Mainly out of curiosity, what do old VHS tapes look like on largish 1080p TVs in comparison to your bog-standard DVDs, image-wise?? Like, when you play certain DVDs, you can see lots of pixellisation, artifacting, just wonder how VHS looks as it's a different medium...erm...? Like I said, just curi...
