Re: Discuss Time! 149

I'm not a rabid collector so I don't fuss too much over the condition. I won't buy anything tatty but I won't pay a premium for mint quality either.
Somewhere in between = good quality for sensible money. That's how I do it.

Re: Buying a console just for one game

I bought an Xbox 360 just to play Burnout Paradise on it. I remember I was annoyed with the game no more than 25 hours into it, but I still managed to play 130+ hours on that game before I stopped. I haven't played much on the X360 since..not it just sits there and prevents dust from falling on my t...

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 147 - Feedback

I haven't recieved my subscription issue yet, but I was dissapointed to see the article about the Vortex game. A month ago when the "contents next issue" was listed I (foolishly) thought it was about Vortex Software. Bugger.

Re: From The Forum Issue 143 - 1942

Too bad I missed this post when it was relevant. My 1942 story though; I bought an arcade cab perhaps 15 years ago. Just the empty cab as I was going to make a MAME machine out of it. The guy who sold it asked me what kind of games I liked. I said "shooters" and he gave me a 1942 board with the cab ...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 143

Xenophobe piece is of my era, but not a game I enjoyed. Haha, I know how you feel. I wrote a bit earlier in this thread that this was the only feature I was looking forward to. ...but I just recieved the latest issue today and I see that I mistook the title for Xybots. http://www.worldofspect...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 143

Based on the list of contents in the first post I'm mostly interested in the "The Making Of: Xenophobe" article. Nothing else that seems interesting this month.

Re: Doctor Who Community Buzzing With Rumours

Come on writers, do Capaldi a favour and pull your fingers out. I'd like to see that happen but somehow doubt it'll happen. Star Trek was on the air constantly from 1987 to 2005. That's 25 seasons of Star Trek spread over 18 years until it finally ended its TV-run due to Star Trek Fatigue. ...I fee...

Re: On New Subsribers Offers

On the same day that my new issue arrives my letter from Imagine also arrives. You know the one telling me i've 3 issues to go and to resubscribe now at the very Best price ever!! A quick flick through the mag finds a new subscriber offer inviting readers to a full years issues of the magazine for ...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 135

The pikachu cover is the subscriber cover. Too bad, I like the orange one with the dragon more. Bang goes my 'complete' collection. Just can't justify buying 4 mags with identical content on top of my sub issue. I agree, screw that. If the content is identlical then that'll have to do. I'm not payi...

Re: ZX Spectrum Homebrew games

Wait, what? That was your FIRST! Are you going to do a Knight Lore on us next and rock the foundations of Speccy gaming? Haha, yes it actually was...but no - nothing as amazing as KN will be coming (any time soon anyway). The next one coming is a Cybernoid type game. Got plans after that to...

Re: ZX Spectrum Homebrew games

I can't even begin to express how much I appreciate that people are still talking about Dingo. Perhaps it's not the perfect game but for a first game in assembler I think it's pretty good and I'm very proud of what me and Mark made. I'd love to another Spectrum game. Everyone does puzzle games or pl...

Re: From the forum issue 133 - Favourite turn-based strategy

Ahh, this one is very easy for me. Battle Isle 2 - that's my favourite turn-based strategy game. I still love playing it...although it's hard to find the time for a game THAT time consuming these days. It's partly the engine that does it for me, but also the setting - I love sci-fi. History Li...

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?

Finally watched the first episode of The 100 last night. Got a bit confused when the Australian actress started speaking with an American accent. :lol ^^Any good? I was going to watch it but then forgot about it. It's not too bad, but it isn't actually good either. Production values are high though...
