Re: From the forum issue 168 - Multiplayer scumbaggery

I've played multiplayer games since at least Warcraft: Orcs & Humans back in 1994, so I've been at it for a long time. My friends and I would meet up often, set our computers up in one room and play RTS or FPS entire weekends. One of the big hits were the original Doom, where 4 players could play ag...

Re: Discuss Section - 166

As Hawk said - you never forget your first love, so my choice would be The Dreamcast.
That being said, I've spent more time with my 360, so I guess that might be the better choice.

Re: From The Forum issue 166 - First Amiga Encounters

How can you ask this - it's been like a million years and can hardly remember what I did last week. That being said I'm pretty sure it was The Faery Tale Adventure at a friends house. Coming from the Speccy I was pretty impressed with the size of the world and what options there were - and I p...

Re: Doom wasn't 3D!

So?
Yes, it looked 3D but wasn't really. Gameplay was good though, so who cares about the technicalities. Aren't we here because we love the old games despite their limitations?

Re: Discuss Time! Issue 161

No thank you. I've bought enough gadgets over the years that I end up not using, so I don't need any more stuff cluttering up my place. Emulation is fine for me.

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 160

Yep, it's a blurry mess. I can only assume it's the crappy paper its printed on. Take page 31 for example, those green tubes with white text, the left of the tube is fine, the right needs a squint to read it. I know I bang on about this but what's the point of well written articles, with great art ...

Re: Thoughts On Retro Gamer Ultimate Guides

I rarely read the Ultimate Guide articles as they usually don't seem interesting to me. Why aren't they interesting? Is it the covered games? Obviously if we know what the problem is we can attempt to fix it :) One factor could just be me not just being interested in the games chosen (I'd need a li...

Re: Spectrum Emulator

I find ZXSpin to be very buggy...but that being said I actually prefer it over Spectaculator (which I've bought), so it's still a winner to me. :-)

It looks absolutely amazing - Georg really knows his stuff.
...and it looks a lot like Rocky Memphis - and that can only be a good thing. 8)

Re: 'Dingo' ACG Homebrew Spectrum game

<snip>...so once I get the time I'll improve the controls, but it'll be a few months...at least. I haven't forgotten, though. Well, time flies. But I finally took some time out to improve on this game - the controls being the primary thing. All in all these are the things that have bee...

Re: From The Forum issue 150 - Best Birthday Presents

We have to turn back time to 1983 when a 15 year old me had used my savings to buy a 16K Spectrum. I didn't have my own telly though, so I was limited to use the "family tv" only when my parents weren't using it. A friend of mine was in the same situation so we talked about going to Germany (from Co...
