Re: 2018 Game Of The Year

Probably done less gaming than ever in 2018 and I REALLY can't remember everything that I've played but one new release that I have been enjoying immensely is the Spyro Reignited Trilogy. Surpassed all of my expectations for a remake and - a few almost insignificant niggles aside - it has done nothi...

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

Liking the look of that Kunio Kun collection...doubly so since I see there is a PS4 version as well.

Re: What are you currently playing?

Usually in FE games, the tank characters aren't as strong later on but the weaker characters become the uber strong tanks later on if you put the time into levelling them up. Titania was one of my favourite characters in the Gamecube game and she was a real tank at the start of that game too but la...

Re: What are you currently playing?

Violent Storm arcade class game. Fire Emblem Wii I had to restarted this on easy and my god it’s still hard If I remember rightly, they messed up the difficulty settings when bringing Fire Emblem from Japan to the West so Easy is actually Normal, Normal is actually Hard etc. You can transfer Path o...

Re: PlayStation 3 - Retro or not?

No. Dates and timelines for what is/isn't retro doesn't even factor into it. The games are basically the exact same as the current generation, just not as pretty. There's nothing different to look back on. Lots of games even exist on both PS3 and PS4 in up/downgraded form(s). You could level the sam...

Re: Panzer Dragoon remakes coming

A welcome surprise but yeah, I hope it isn't messed with too much. Orta was fantastic but I preferred the Saturn games so a visual refresh is all I'd ask for.

But surely everybody is like "Yur but what about PDS, mate?" I can't afford to buy a Saturn copy so get it ported or updated!

Re: What are you currently playing?

Returned to my Yakuza 5 save that I haven't played for over a year  Still trying to get back into it. Got distracted by other games at the time which is a shame since I adore Yakuza. Got the newer games sitting unplayed on my shelf so I want to get Y5 out of the way at last...not that I want ...

Re: Your New Retro Gamer Community Team

"These subjects are banned, these people are banned, there will be no discussion of this, if you don't like it then leave." And so many did. Yep that sums it up. Many left and did not come back. Its not like we are getting new members by the 100 ether. Yes. I make a few posts in the gaming section ...

Re: New PS2 Games

Another way to tell if the game is a potential later reprint is to look at the ratings logo. PEGI used to be black-and-white then later switched to the traffic light system that we have today. The Konami PS2 reprints can be told apart from the originals this way for example. The rating logo is blac...

Loving the video ad that keeps popping up in Youtube that begins with "in the beginning there was nothing" as if PS1 was the start of gaming

Re: New PS2 Games

Did they have the silver Sony seal sticker thing on the case? Also, the tear strips used to have the 'PS2' logo on them though I'm not sure every release did (depending on publisher/distributor). I don't think publishers "sell" the rights for somebody else to reprint their games but it HAS been know...

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

£20 on Switch The last boss is one of those SNK bosses that seems to have endless combos that drain the life bar and end up with a super finish YOu can only win a fight with one for some asinine reason I don't have a Switch so I checked the PS4 digital version and, well...it's £44.99 on the Playsta...

Re: Sony announces Playstation 1 Classic

Posted this elsewhere but oh well. Consider the current going rates for these three games alone: Revelations: Persona - £80-£100 for an NTSC copy (didn't come out in PAL) Resident Evil Director's Cut - around £20 (prices varies wildly but £20 is the average) Wild Arms - £20-£30 for PAL So there's so...

Re: What are you currently playing?

Soulcalibur VI. It is pretty bloody good as well. Best one in the series since SCII & III as far as I'm concerned. Everything that was awful about SCV (so most of it then) has been binned.
