Landstalker's a pretty solid game, but indeed it gets a little hard at the end. I believe the same developers made a PS1 game called Alundra, which is very good as well. If you're looking for another good isometric RPG on the Mega Drive, you should check out Light Crusader by the good people at Trea...

Heck, I feel fortunate that a quality magazine of this nature even exists. The first time I saw it (issue 4), I thought, "finally somebody's made the magazine I've always wanted to read." In a way it's become less 'mature'... because it's rid itself of the 'adult' ads in the back ;)

Lot of good art from people here. Here's a drawing I did years ago of the overworld map for Final Fantasy Adventure AKA Mystic Quest AKA Seiken Densetsu on the Game Boy...

There could be a positive side to it. It was around the time of the Virtual Console's debut that companies practically stopped releasing retro compilations on consoles. Perhaps the trend could be going back the other direction again.

Nice of them to allow switching between the updated and original graphics anytime during gameplay. But at the same time, it actually highlights the minimal amount of work put into it.

Nice collection Jeremiah. I had no idea that zelda came in such a shiny gold cartridge. What game is the silver one? Thanks! The silver cartridge is a game called Fire Hawk, which is a very... average at best helicopter shooting game. The other NES carts whose names aren't visible are a combination...

Metal Slug. Hate that the original development crew isn't around to keep the newer games in the series interesting.

Seems like a good idea for a Conversion Capers article.
I personally liked how the Mega Drive/Genesis version of the original added a new section at the end.

I agree with The Master. The Top 25 Isometric Games was a bit awkward to read. Even then, it wasn't an issue of size so much as angle. It was kind of easy to skip a line every so often while reading it. Good idea though.

I suspect that a lot of stores in other countries chose not to carry issue 58 since the cover was holiday themed, and taking the shipping time into account, they wouldn't have received them before the end of the holidays.
