No Worms topic would be worthwhile without this...

Re: Original Wii Shop Channel To Close

It has lasted well, but it's one of the reasons why I'll always prefer physical ownership over digital.

Re: SNES Mini Announced

I couldn't even get a pre-order in anywhere. I'm going to have to wait until somewhere has it in stock - and that's not likely any time soon...

Re: 3DS Games discussion/Collecting thread

Got it through the post and I've only played as far as the first save point in & plays a lot like a true successor to Super Metroid - while on the title screen they've got a more modern Metroid theme song playing reminiscient of the Prime series, but after a minute or two it changes into the jingle ...

Re: harvest moon newbie

The Wii version's OK - but in my opinion not as good as the handheld games. I do know you can transfer over Wide World characters over to it, but I've no idea if it's just the name & appearance that makes it over or if you get the shop catalogue too. One thing I will mention though - to unlock the f...

Re: harvest moon newbie

Animal Crossing is also geared for "drip & drab" gameplay where you just play when you feel like it - although they are more rewarding when played daily - even just for a few minutes

Re: The "more than 20 years in the making" game is released

To be fair, Elite : Dangerous is in the "more than 20 years in the making" since it is Elite 4 in all but name - and had been played with in development all the years since Frontier : First Encounters came out (although I understand they did wipe the slate & start afresh a few times - until they eve...

Re: hunting games

I suppose you could bannerbomb your Wii and get Duck Hunt for it - since Nintendo didn't release the game themselves on virtual console until the WiiU... Naturally we can't legally condone such an action here, but the homebrew channel does open up options for you - especially since Nintendo are now ...

Re: the thq/2k wwe games thread

I could never get the hang of the EA wrestling games on the N64 & Playstation - it seemed that you had to remember 97+ inputs in sequence just to pull off the simplest moves  The THQ ones on the N64 were simple enough for anyone to play tap or hold either A or B and hold a direction & the relev...

Re: I need a favour re: Gamecube controller

I've heard that a couple of candles in the right position can work as a "sensor bar" as the Wii Remote simply picks up the IR signal from them.

If you don't want to use any candles, but have a Wii Remote with a classic controller, then you can use the classic controller to navigate the menus.

Re: Cex now selling Super Nes stuff

I managed to get Ghostbusters for the Wii out of the CEX in Glasgow. Since it was the last story written by Dan Akroyd & Harold Ramis, I guess you could say that it was the last "canon" story in the Ghostbusters franchise - not counting reboots.

Re: James Bond Games

In terms of official James Bond games, Goldeneye was as good as it's ever been - even if the game took quite a bit of time after the film to actually get released. As mentioned above though - Perfect Dark - while lacking the licence - does everything better (although it doesn't actually pioneer anyt...
