Re: Discuss: Spectrum vs Amstrad Gaming

I personally had a CPC - but I'll quote something that was in one of the later issues of Amstrad Action. Alan Sugar made a machine that was better than his competition's (Clive Sinclair's Spectrum) - then bought his competition and re-released their product... If memory serves me correctly, one of t...

Re: My year of PS2

If you like RPGs, don't forget to give the Phantasy Star Universe titles a look - both of them have a full story mode offline (If you want online play, it'll need to be on PC via the "clementine" servers...)

Re: Your fave adventure game

I loved the original Broken Sword, but I've voted for Monkey Island here.

Re: Your fave FPS series

Not a series as such, but I still prefer the N64 Goldeneye & Perfect Dark over subsequent FPS games.

Re: Controversial gaming opinions

My own controvesial opinion is that we're due another videogames crash - the only thing that's held it back from happening so far is that the online stores for the consoles now have support for "indie" game developers to get them coverage and market penetration. If it was up to the main publishers w...

Re: Gaming elements that annoy you.

* Subtitles that you can’t switch off when there’s voice acting - this took away from the Breath of the Wild experience for me. You should always be able to switch off subtitles. I find them very distracting, and at worst, immersion killing. The reverse is also true - there are people that can't he...

Re: wii U

It's not everyone's cup of tea, but Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is another good purchase for the WiiU with the servers still active, having a couple of hundred players active most of the weekend - and even when they eventually go down, all the content can still be accessed. I believe the DLC is still ...

Re: What are you currently playing?

That'll be Pokemon Go you'll be talking about then - I do a little bit of that on the side, but it's more like the Safari Zone minigame where you literally have to walk around in person instead of controlling an ingame character, lol. I was actually talking about playing the original games - both on...

Re: What are you currently playing?

I've just recently got an xbox one with Fallout 4 and Alien : Isolation - but I've not really had time to invest into them - although that early Deathclaw in one of the early missions in Fallout 4 did catch me off-guard... I have been playing the odd bit of Gen 1 & 2 Pokemon during my commute to & f...

What remixes were on the RG Issue 4 coverdisc again? One of them probably as I never had a C64 when I was younger and can't really name any of his tunes...

I spotted one of the worse possible purchases. A copy of the budget version of C&C Red Alert for the original Playstation - with the Allies disc missing...

Re: The Greatest Games Systems Of All Time

Here's mine - in no particular order N64 - While it wasn't one of Nintendo's biggest sellers, it played host to many timeless games such as Goldeneye, Zelda OoT. Conker's Bad Fur Day, Pilotwings 64 & so on Amstrad CPC - Not as expensive as the C64 or as cheap as the Spectrum, but it had the best of ...

Re: Most Annoying Console to Set Up

Agreed - anything from the Wii onwards - particularly those that "require" an internet connection for updates or even to simply look about itself online (In some WiiU games the Miiverse functionality is downright invasive - such as in Wind Waker HD0, where you get the "Miiverse bottles" washing up o...
