Sounds pathetic but my scariest moment was when I hooked a set of hifi
speakers up to my PC without an amplifier and then tried to play Pinball
Dreams. Oh my word how loud that was, scared the pants off me!

Depends. If the same editing team are in place, we'll have loads of 80s still
to come! In 10 years though there'd probably be more focus on 90s games
as the teen and twenty-something game-geeks  of the day would be
in their 30s and 40s by then.

I couldn't have had a better return to England than to get my Retro Gamer and read all about both Rampage AND Beneath A Steel Sky. I was in literary heaven... Anyone notice the controls on the PC version of Rampage were sticky? How hard I used to bash the keys to get the monster to move... but I did...

GTA 2 wasn't as much fun as GTA 1 Please tell me you were joking... GTA1 is crap, London 61-69 isn't bad but GTA2 is like among the best games ever... oh well, we all have different tastes! I just can't play GTA1 at all. I really tried. The controls are really sluggish, graphics blocky, but then I ...

What's this basketball game?

I'm taking a fat chance here... okay so I played this basketball game in around 1990-1991, the game was probably late 1980s. It was on the PC (alas I played it on a Hercules green-black PC made by Hyundai), was 2-on-2 and the bleeper made funny noises when you shot at the basket and the ball was rot...

For those in the Bristol area, there's a shop selling games, retro consoles
and DVDs at the Broadwalk Centre, Knowle. They've currently got a Sega
Megadrive 1 with Mega CD 1 with games for 65 quid, and a Master System 1
with games for, I forgot, about 25 quid or so. Me, well I'm waiting for a C64!

Fake consoles? Legally?

I was just wondering, as I've been back in England for a week and Europe for 6 months (was in South Africa for 7 years before then). Do you get fake consoles here? Like, I remember yonks ago that on the fleamarket you'd pick up a weird, foreign-looking box with a console in it, that would basically ...

Yeah, most Simpsons games are crap. I also adored the Arcade Game, but I hardly got to play it - I lived in Holland at the time and they've never really had arcade games, so I got to play it when I returned to England once a year. I finally got the game on the PC as freeware, but what a pity you hav...

Who likes Larry

Hey, just wondering if I'm the only one who loves the old PC game Leisure Suit Larry? I know the follow-ups were crap (3 was OK though) and I know the VGA remakes were awful, but it's one of the first PC games I remember when starting out as a kid (okay, so I got the cheat code to avoid the question...
