Re: THE PSP retro love thread

I've been loving my PSP this week, what a fantastic little console. Been playing Gran Turismo PSP alongside Metal Gear Solid (PS classics), however I am struggling to unlock both Rondo and Symphony of the Night in Castlevania. Definately need more practice.

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

Bought a PSP Slim off Amazon along with Castlevania X. Then went out and bought Gran Turismo PSP today, only to find that I can't save my progress in either game because I forgot to buy a memory stick. Durrrr. GT is so much fun though! Apparently I need to update in order to view the PSN store. I'm ...

Re: Arcade Sports games

Turf Masters and Super Sidekicks are both gaming gold. I really need to play Street Hoop.

This. Loved the wasteland setting. Loved VATS. Loved the characters. Hated everything else. So tedious.

Re: All I want for Christmas is . . .

Hopefully this years paycheck bonus will turn these wishes of mine into a Christmas Day miracle. . A Neo Geo AES . An external disk drive for my Amiga 500 (they are amazingly rare here in North America so I might have to wait until I go back home to Ireland next Summer.) . Snatcher (Mega CD Or Sega...

Re: Oblivion? Worth a cog?

How could anyone complain about the caves in Oblivion when the bunkers in Fallout 3 were plain tedious. I loved exploring Cyrodiil, each settlement had a beautiful character of it's own. Worth playing again for the first time you leave the sewers and the Dark Brotherhood quests.

Re: THE PSP retro love thread

I've recently come around to the awesome amount of games available for the PSP, however I don't actually own one. How much should I be paying for one and what particular model is best for homebrew?

I can't wait to play Peace Walker!

Re: Not Feeling the Dreamcast Love

I missed out on the Dreamcast, but back then it must have been amazing to have arcade quality titles in your front room. My only gripe with the machine is it's unreliability. Mine only works when it wants to

Re: Kissing goodbye to my CRT... :(

The British Heart foundation has a lot of 21 inch CRT I'd imagine they would be cheap as well.. I walk past a British Heart Foundation on the way to work, and they have some absolutely fantastic CRT sets for cheap, all sizes. You could easily pick up a nice shiny Sony one for around £20, perfect fo...

Re: Have you ever queued up for a midnight release?

Only ever queued for a midnight release once and it was pretty soul destroying. I finished work late and came home to an empty house, out of sheer boredom I walked around the corner to the local Blockbuster for Modern Warfare 2. There were a few people there and then the line began to snake around t...

Re: Most Exciting Retro Find?

I have the worst luck when it comes to discovering desirable or interesting retro finds. I was talking to a bloke the other day who's friend found a Snatcher CD going cheap with no case or inlay in smack converters. It had a huge crack down it but still worked in his console.

Re: Your top 5 Rare games

1. Goldeneye (N64) - Felt great. Infinite playability. Proved FPS can be well executed on a CONSOLE. 2. Donkey Kong Land (GB) - They did a great job of squeezing the overall style of the SNES game onto a GB cart. It still plays amazingly well. 3. Donkey Kong Land 2 (GB) - For the music alone. 4. Cab...

Forgotten Worlds (MD)
Empire of Steel (MD)

Picked both games up from Otakuzoku in Cardiff. Been buying stuff from there for about a year now, I'm lucky to have such nice shop in my area.
