Your favourite version of R-Type?

I have been playing R-Type alot lately. To try and find the ultimate version of the game I have played the following versions: C64, Spectrum, CPC, MSX, Sega Master System. Snes (Super and R-Type 3), R-Type DX on the GBA and R-Type Final on the PS2. (I know I missed R-Type Delta and a couple of other...

Re:

I remember the main character but can't remember for the life of me what the game was like?? The main character appears in my Avatar ;) Good old Zub man! The game is a straight forward jump up to the next level, and you had little aliens attacking you on your progress, who would knock you off your ...

The Streets Of Rage series of games is talked about on alot of retro-forums, and seems to be one of the most missed of all retro-games. Even in it's original form it is the pinnicle of 16-bit gaming. To put this onto a next-gen console, and keep the action of the original game would be a hard task, ...

I remember having not too many copied games, and would always spend my pocket money and later my pay on getting new games each weekend. I did put aload of my favourite games like Zub, Barbarian and Ikari Warriors onto a C60, but when I got a Disc Drive for my CPC I spent all the time I had transferr...

The thing I really really like about Retro-Gaming is discovering the games I missed in my youth, and playing games on other formats that I could not in my youth. I spend hours now playing the C64/Speccy and MSX versions of games that I once played on my CPC machines. And of course, I like to play ga...

I can't believe I forgot to mention Burnin' Runner on the 6128+. Wow! That really was the pinnicle of 8-bit gaming, and still looks lovely today!

Hi, my name is Mark, and I am from Swansea in South Wales. I'll be 36 this month, and I've been into gaming for as long as I remember. Here is a rough list of the machines/consoles I have owned through the years: Grandstand Pong/Football games, ZX81, Amstrad CPC464, ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC6128+, SM...

I remember the first time I played Sorcery on the CPC464! Wow, that blew me away, I had never seen graphics that good on an 8-bit computer. I also remember being impressed with Barbarian , the colours used on the CPC version were fantastic, and all my C64 mates were just so jealous that yet another ...

Zub - Mastertronic classic 8-bit game.

Ok, some may say I have a little fettish for Zub. As this is a more general forum than my usual CPC forums, I just wanted to see how many of you remember one of the greatest platform games in history! Oh, how I used to play this game day and night! Basically, you have to get ZUB from the bottom of t...

My idea for a conversation to a new format would be the original 8-bit game Ghost Busters . This game has so much to offer, and I have discussed a few times on the CPC forums. First off, the shop-screen that you start off would be in the Tony Hawks vein of 3D, where you have the option to buy all yo...
