Re: I really can't wait for the new generation of consoles

Because, honestly I can count on one hand the amount of games this generation that have enthralled me. As someone who has been enjoying gaming since my first console back in 1977, and still enjoying games now at the age of 42, I have to say that this generation has been the best ever in terms of qu...

Re: Wii - Ghost Squad - awesome SEGA gun game. + best wii gu

Picked this up for my Wii for 48p in Gamestation last weekend, and I've been enjoying it. That said, my favourite gun game at the moment is the far superior House Of The Dead Overkill on the PS3, what a game! Still, 48p has given me plenty of pleasure and use of my Wii again.

Re: Resident Evil - Simply the worst movie I have ever seen.

Seems like I'm in the minority then, as I really enjoyed all four Resident Evil films, even bought the box-set.

Re: Your first console

Mine was a varient of the "Pong" consoles in around 1977 and it was a Christmas present. It had four 'games' on it, all basically pong with different configurations of bat. Had numerous hand-held LCD portables then before getting my ZX81 in 1982, never been without a console since.

Re: Is this a good Gamecube pickup?

Thank you for all the input. I literally had no interest in the Gamecube until I had one for Christmas off my missus. I knew I had these cheap, but have just been on eBay and didn't realise what some of these titles reach! I am playing my way through them slowly, so far though its Viewtiful Joe that...

Is this a good Gamecube pickup?

I only started my Gamecube Collection at Christmas and now have 25 titles thanks to this haul. I already have Mario K...

Re: Do you use your 360/PS3 for anything other than games?

Other than games I use the PS3 mostly for streaming radio from its browser. I makes a brilliant radio-streamer. Plus of course I use it for iPlayer, Demand 5 and ITV Player and also have a 32GB usb stick connected full of music and movies.

Re: Why weren't Arcade quality games in homes during the 80'

I've enjoyed reading this thread, and you can see those of us who were there at the time. The main thing to remember is that, at the time, the games we played on our Speccys, C64s and CPCs felt like the arcade versions to us. As mentioned, imagination was something we still had, and playing these ar...

Re: A couple of new PSN releases

I also noticed Space Channel 5 Part 2 and Sega Bass Fishing on there which I had not seen before. both HD'd hip and at bargain prices. Maybe I've just missed them, but at these prices they are must buys.

Re: C64 Vs Spectrum - Let's end the debate

I am quite lucky with this question as my main computer at the time was the far superior Amstrad CPC464. I owned all three, and honestly and subjectively I'm going to have to go with the C64. I think its simply aged better than the Speccy too, and you can see that it really is a more powerful machin...

Re: Do you pickup retro games from cash converters/generator

Our Cash Generators in this area are always full of bargains. I've picked up dozens of Gamecube, Saturn, PS1 and PS2 game for between .49p and £1.49. Also pick up quite a few PS3 games for £2.99/£4.99. The good thing is they only seem to take in games that are not scratched or damaged, so it means t...

It's a bit of both. Playing with rose-tinted-specs is always fun, until you actually play a game you thought was awesome and it really hasn't stood the test of time.
