Re: Discuss Section - 166

The Megadrive, because it really did bring arcade-quality into the home.

Did someone nick my account? Felt like I was looking in a mirror! Couldn't have said it better myself.
I like dropzone enough to have wired a c64 controller that has fire, smart bomb and shield buttons.

Re: Where's my subscription?

For what it's worth I got issue 163 and replacement issue for 162 today.
So issue 163 is more than a month behind the UK release.

I have. They send replacement issues when I simply don't recieve one, but they don't have a good explanation why all the issues arrive 2 to 3 weeks after they turn up in newsagents.

Re: Where's my subscription?

Even when I get the issues normally, they are all 2 weeks or more behind the newsagents.

Re: Where's my subscription?

I've been having issues in Australia as well.
I never recieved 162, and had to ask via email for a replacement (not recieved as yet).
I haven't recieved 163 yet either.

I do. This issue has been in the newsagents for weeks now.
I'm not impressed.

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 162

As an Australian subscriber I am getting increasingly sick of the lateness of my issues.
I still haven't recieved 162 and 163 is out now.

162 has been in the newsagents for a couple of weeks now.

Re: Greatest Apple II games

1) Dogfight - eight players around the keyboard! I don't think I had that many friends at the time.
2) Hard Hat Mack - Donkey Kong-eseque
3) Choplifter! - Fun stuff
4) Karateka - Showed me where games were going
5) Stellar 7 - nice version of Battlezone

Re: When did you find out...

I didn't know how exchange rates worked, and I kept looking at prices for games and systems in UK and US magazines and wondered why things were so much cheaper than in Australia.
Turns out, even with exchange rates things were cheaper overseas (just not as much as I thought).

The rolling price increases that EBay has enabled, where everything is price + postage, making the next seller sell at price + postage + postage.

Re: From The Forum issue 162 - Retro Gaming Woes

I miss the fun of going to markets and routinely finding interesting bits and pieces. There just isn't that much retro stuff floating around anymore, it's all painfully priced and all the good stuff goes too early in the morning.
