Re: Discuss - 169

Never understood why anyone used the 'banana grip' joysticks... apart from looking like a jet fighter control, they are terrible for most games.

Re: Retro Gamer 168

I'm hoping the newsagent (Australia) will have it airfreighted by monday as I love Half Life 2 to death!! God Retro Gamer, you know exactly how to make us into retro addicts!! :P PS - New article on the Raiden games please!! You'd think Australian subscribers would see it soon, but I've only just r...

Re: Discuss - 169

The Suncom Tac 2. It's got a nice short travel, ergonomic in your hand, duplicate buttons for left or right hand use and is damn near indestructible.
Also, I ripped the autofire circuitry out of a bodgy Quikshot joystick and added another firebutton to mine.

Re: Suddenly having problems receiving new issues! :(

I'm in Perth, Australia. I finally got Issue 167 today after all this time. I hope the pace will be picked up as we australians and kiwis really do pay that little bit extra for the magazine. I think 2 weeks is more than a fair amount of time to reach me.... I live in hope that my 167 will turn up ...

Are you sure about that? Australian Newsagents are still on 165, the Zelda issue until mid June - they are running 3 months behind unless you find one who will airfreight it in (at extra cost). I actually went into a magazine shop in Melbourne last week and he showed me the due dates for the Road R...

Mate, I still haven't received the second last issue. This Future take-over is totally bonkers. I would be going crazy if it wasn't for the newsagency that has it air delivered.... I'd love to know why my issues arrive 3 to 4 weeks after they appear in the Australian newsagents. What am I subscribi...

Re: Are US subscriptions now being shipped from within the US? Shipping speed VERY slow. Packaging flimsy.

In future I will be buying Retro Gamer and Games tm from my local newsagency as the magazines they receive are air-freighted and sometimes they get the magazines 4 weeks before I do which is just ridiculous. I have yet to receive the current issues of games tm and RG. Will it be possible to get a r...

Re: From the forum issue 168 - Multiplayer scumbaggery

I used to play Command and Conquer out of hours at work, and created an early Zerg Rush tactic by doing nothing but building a bundle of recon bikes as quickly as possible, screaming over to my opponents and blowing up their slower developing bases.

Re: From The Forum issue 166 - First Amiga Encounters

My school ran a fair every year, and for many years they hired a caravan that had arcade machines in it.
I can still remember some of the machines;
Guttang Guttong
Bezerk, with a really thick joystick
Asteroids
Crush Roller.

Re: From The Forum issue 166 - First Amiga Encounters

A Commodore dealer called Steve's Communications which I used to moon about in looking at their C64 stuff had a monitor running the Amiga's running horse demo. It looked like such a leap in quality.
