Re: Happy Birthday MAME 20 today.

I remember a friend asking me if i'd seen Mame. I had no idea what he was talking about and he produced a disc with "Gauntlet" written on it. He loaded it and suddenly the game appeared on the screen. "So...someone's written a version of Gauntlet for the PC?" i asked. "No" he replied "This is the ar...

Re: Are you a good or poor gamer (new or old generation?)

I'm playing Resident Evil 7 on easy. This would never have happened in the old days, but now i have a toddler and a wife so gaming time is scarce and i just want to experience the game rather than test my skills and have to play sections over if i fail. I would say i used to be quite a decent gamer!

Re: Resident Evil VII

I'm very early on in the game and want to know if there's any point in trying to shoot Jack at all in the corridors - or is it just a waste of ammo? You normally just shoot Resi enemies until they fall over and die (if only temporarily like Nemesis) but he just keeps popping up all over the place. S...

Re: How big are you expecting the PS4 VR to be?

I saw a video on how you can hook up your old consoles and play them in Cinema mode (looks like you're playing them on a huge cinema screen). You just need a box to convert your console to output in HDMI. Don't know how playable they would be, but i'd like to experience that some time!

Do remember the SNES launch and the months that followed? That was pretty much exactly what happened there.

Re: Psn accounts - downloading items on a new console

I replaced my PS3 the other day. Just sign in with your PSN account and go to the "my download list" (or something similar) in the PS store. You'll find everything you ever bought/downloaded there.

Re: Charity Shops

What happens if you scan the barcode on the back of the Barcode Battler box? Will it have cataclysmic effects like meeting yourself in the future?

Re: Playstation Vita games discussion thread

To be honest, I really don't care for the Limited Release crap. Most of the library consists of sub-par digital titles, it all seems like scalper fodder. It's been amazing to see how much people have been moaning that Limited Release heat shrink wrap their games instead of using y-fold shrink wrap....

Re: Charity Shops

Found sealed copies of Sorcery and The Shoot for PS3 for £2 each. Time to break out the move controllers (which strangely have gone up by 300% in CEX since PSVR came out)! Also found a copy of Loco Roco to replace the one where my mate had lost the UMD which is good as empty cases do my head in. Onl...

That's why i'm keeping it as an investment. I reckon in ten years it could go up in value by as much as 50%.

I found a shrink wrapped japanese copy of Modern Warfare on 360 for £2. I would love to how and why someone had an unopened copy of that in Tooting.

The Art of Atari is a lovely book which covers the 2600 era. Masters of Doom which covers Id software is an absolute belter and Andrew Hewson's book is definitely worth a read.

i'm getting the Gremlin Graphics book for Xmas which i'm very much looking forward to.

Re: Owning games for consoles you don't own and ltd box sets

I have a ton of PS3 games that i can't play - as my console died on me last night. Plus I have a bunch of Virtual Boy games that are gathering dust as my VB died as well. I will get that fixed one day... I still have Carrier Command and Damocles on the ST despite not having owned the machine for yea...
