Re: Of all the games to "remaster"

The advantage of the new version is that the video is now not the pixellated mess that it once was and you can actually see what's going on. Ummm...yeah, that's about it. Apparently Limited Run are going to be selling this in three different covers, safe in the knowledge that the complete collectio...

Re: Is there any way to stop the rising cost of retro?

I don't think there's anything that can be done to be honest. Emulation is a wonderful thing but it's been around for ages and we're still at the point where prices are sky rocketing (just think what the price of Rule of Rose etc would be if owning the original disc was the only way to play it?). Ma...

You're not kidding. I just played it for the first time since i owned it on the ST many, many years ago. Absolute garbage and inferior in every way to the original. It can't even manage multi directional scrolling.

Re: Poor sequels

This maybe unfair as i haven't been playing it for long but...Jak 2. In an attempt to make the game (about a mute and his animal sidekick let's recall) "edgy", Naughty Dog throw out all those vibrant locations of the first game and replace it with a run down city that seems to want to be a sci fi GT...

Re: Which Games look best on a shelf.

The answer is NOT GAMECUBE F**K YOU WARIO WARE!! Is no one going to say PS1? Doesn't anyone find that wall of bland looking black and white soothing to the eye? Especially when placed to the artistic masterstroke that was the PS2 boxes. I actually like the original Xbox games up on the shelve...

Re: Poor sequels

Nights Journey into Dreams: Inane characters and voice acting (the word 'visitor' makes me wince to this day whenever i hear it) combined with really dull gameplay. Made worse by the levels that resemble the original and show that a decent follow up was possible. Dino Crisis 3: The sequel was a curv...

Re: Spectrum Vega Plus Poll

When you announce in March that you're finalising the design for the box that the unit should have been shipped in back in December, you know something's gone very wrong.

Re: My PS3 is dying

I have a PS4 but it didn't cross my mind to not buy a replacement PS3 when my original died. Such a great catalogue of games. Unfortunately my back up drive died and i managed to lose all my saves. Not a bad excuse to start some of those games over...

Re: My PS3 is dying

Just be careful with the blue screw that holds the drive in place. My one appeared to be made out of butter and i managed to render it useless by just trying to unscrew it. In the end i had to use a dremel to turn it into a flat head screw and managed to get it off. Back up your existing drive first...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

I've had one error message crash and one incidence of the unit freezing and not responding to anything.

I read on a PSP/Vita group one guy ridiculing the tiny Switch D pad, claiming it was the worst design he'd ever seen. We had to tell him he was looking at the Plus button

Re: Spectrum Vega Plus Poll

Exactly. "Sorry guys, but we've had hardware issues concerning xxx" or "the legal threat has frozen our assets" etc. Putting people in the picture would help massively. Now there's a whole group who believe they've been scammed or lied to and mock every statement RCL comes out with. They've posted a...

Re: Spectrum Vega Plus Poll

Oh, and the video today. Three devices working. Funny how that is the same amount working as the last video footage, and the coloured backs are shown face down... The coloured ones only have coloured backs apparently, so seen face up they'd look the same as the regular ones. It's been mentioned in ...

Re: Spectrum Vega Plus Poll

Sweet Jesus. I've been reading today the "Anti" brigade rightly taking umbrage at being called "f#ckwits" by someone saying that the recent video is proof that everything is fine - but then deciding calling anyone who is in the other camp as "scum" is acceptable (i'd keep back phrases like that for ...
