Re: Doctor Who Community Buzzing With Rumours

I was leaning towards the Doctor remaining a man purely as i kept think about Hartnell's Dr leaving his granddaughter with a man from earth. She could have had an accident the next day and regenerated as a man which would have been a bit of a shock for the poor male involved! Having seen the first m...

Re: do you buy physical music

Record shopping (as i still call cd shopping for some reason) is still one of the great joys in my life but sadly something i don't get to do too often anymore. I used to be able to go into the west end and spend the best part of the day drifting from record shop to shop, picking up weird and wonder...

Re: SNES Mini Announced

There have been quite a lot of stock going up at various retailers in the last couple of weeks - i bet some of those people who paid £200 for a pre-order on ebay on that first day are feeling a bit sheepish right now.

Re: SNES Mini Announced

Smyths were selling them for £69.99. Not sure if that means Amazon, Game and ShopTo hiked the retail price or if they screwed up. Not complaining either way! Nintendo promise "significantly" larger stock than the Mini Nes. They all seemed to disappear just as quickly.

Re: Favourite Handheld

It should be the Vita. It's like Sony reached into my mind for things that i wanted to improve about the PSP and actually did them: bigger screen, a couple of decent sticks, great sound etc. And yet...i feel like i went into a car showroom and was sold a really amazing sportscar. Not only that, i wa...

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

My local-ish Retro shop is closing down tomorrow so i went in today and bagged some boxed 2600 carts (40% off!). Very sad to see it go but i can understand why it's really difficult to run a dedicated retro games shop when everyone is getting in on the act.

Re: If you had your time again

I would have ditched the whole ST/Amiga era. I never really connected with the games during that time and revistiting them in later life hasn't made me feel any differently. Very happy with all my other choices along the way though.

Re: What are you currently playing?

I'm finally getting near the end of Resident Evil 7. Where i utterly loved that decrepit, decaying house that was crammed with a life times junk and those crazy hillbillies, the move to the ship has really killed a lot of the atmosphere for me. I don't know whether it's because the setting now seems...

Re: Charity Shops

Is there anything more heartbreaking than seeing a bunch of immaculate looking Xbox games appear in your charity shop, only to see that you own most of them? Well yeah, loads of things i suppose. Anyway, i added a minty looking Nightfire (developers were harsh with checkpoints back then) and Goldene...

Re: Atari Flashback Classics Collections XB1/PS4

Sounds a good deal, but why would they need 2 volumes when they could easily get them on the one disc? Heck why stop there, why not have 5200, 7800 and Jag games on there? First thing i thought when i saw this. Compilations used to be split into volumes to fit them on a disc/cartridge. There's not ...
