Re: Spectrum Next - Will you buy one

I caved in on the final day of the Kickstarter (i knew how gutted i'd be once they started shipping and i was seeing loads of photos in the FB groups). I'm looking forward to seeing what the developers are going to do with it and also to giving my tape collection a run out. Can't wait.

Re: SNES Mini Announced

Nice to see my local Game had a big stack of them behind the counter, I trust everyone's been able to nab one just fine this year right? I noticed my local CEX still trying to flog them for £120 They've now gone down to £100 online and at my local store. Guess it wasn't such a money make this time ...

Re: PS Plus and Xbox gold

I quit Playstation Plus in the end. It was a great service but i was just adding a load of games to the "to play" stack and never touching any of them.

any timed mission anything EVER!!!
especially the near impossible ones
Especially ones where you can stand next to a NPC for an hour but when you talk to them, they suddenly say "This must get to X in 5 mins or it'll explode" or suchlike. It kinda breaks the atmosphere for me a little.

Re: SNES Mini Announced

So apparently the internal structure of the mini SNES is almost identical to the mini NES, meaning it may already work with the existing hacking software. Does anyone else intend to add some more games or will you keep it as nature intended?

Re: Quake Champions & Prey 2 announced

I crack out Quake 3 every year or so but i always just play against bots. I get a nice even game without getting fragged every four seconds by gamers who know every map inside out and have been playing since launch day. If Quake Champions offers the same option, i'll buy it like a shot. It likely w...

Re: Your greatest gaming gamble

hey, that question brought back memories. I remember they had a sale on at the pc shop and had titles i'd not heard of but had interesting artwork like "Bad Day On The Midway" and "The Dark Eye" by Inscape. Did you like Bad Day on the Midway? I'm a massive Residents fan but i never got to play any ...

Re: Games genres that you just don't like

RTS - I just lack the patience Fighting Games - I never learn how to play them properly. My attempts to play the last Street Fighter were just woeful. RPGs - i do love RPGs but i've never come close to finishing a turn based RPG. It's the incessant need to grind that sucks all the joy out of them fo...

Re: Controversial magazine Reviews/Scores

Whenever any of the official magazines reviewed a game and just described the storyline without mentioning controls or playability, that always set off alarm bells. If you look at OPM's review of Angel of Darkness, they don't actually lie about the game's quality - but they don't tell you anything a...

Re: SNES Mini Announced

Mine's on it's way from Smyths - which is a relief as i've just cancelled my back up order from Game. I'm really hoping they've included all the unnecessary additional memory that the Mini Nes had.

Re: Pandemonium! (PSOne/PC)

You can definitely install an app on your local machine to an iPhone via iTunes after it has been pulled from the store. Problem is, will it run on the more recent phone / OS version? Sometimes yes, oftentimes no. All of Jeff's games stopped working 3-4 years go with an OS update. Jeff made extreme...

Re: Pandemonium! (PSOne/PC)

Yeah, I knew that. Do you know why it was removed? It's a big shame since I have an iPhone... Games drop off the store all the time. Devs don't have interest / resources in recompiling the game for some issue they have with a new version of the OS, so Apple pulls them eventually. I have physical ba...

I was feeling a bit cash rich so i splashed out 50p on Book of Spells plus a Wonderbook for PS3.
